HAPPY WENESDAY!
I'm looking forward to celebrating the end of the Lenten season, and the resurrection of Christ. Jesus Lives... Hallelujah! Our Teacher, Rabbi, Priest, Brother, Friend, and Savior was killed many years ago, but was resurrected three days later, and now sits on a throne in Heaven, at the right hand of God our Father. Hallelujah! Through this week we're supposed to be reliving the week before Jesus’ death. Can you imagine what was going through His head, the day before His “Last Supper” gathering with His closest friends? Take some time to think about that, and research the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, which all records many details about this last week. I know how I’m feeling right now, waiting to have some of those things I’ve given up over the last forty days. To be so close to victory is harder than I imagined. Without Jesus we wouldn't have life, so it's worth it to find out who He was, and about His passion. Enjoy the remainder of your day, and be blessed family!
Today's scriptures are about God supplying our every need. Think of Who God is, because we sometimes lose sight of that. Most of us have routines we follow, when it comes to our faith walk, but it should go way beyond that. Are you the Christian who says the same prayer when you wake up, before you eat, or go to bed? Do you read your bible the same every night? Do you go to church every Sunday, greet your friends, listen to the message, and go home doing the same things you've done, before you went in? I think most of us get into these habits and/or rituals in life, because we feel like Christianity is something that’s required, so we do it. Take Facebook, or other social networking websites, for example, there are numerous people that have "Christian", as their religion on their personal profile page, but nothing about them speaks that they're a follower of Christ. People are just being Christian for the Sake of being Christian, but it's written: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven." (Matt 7:21) We must build a relationship with God so that we can reap the fruits of righteousness. Yes, when we accept Jesus as Savior, we’re automatically “saved” no matter what, but don’t you want more out of life? God promises, throughout the bible, that He’ll provide all needs, catch us when we fall, lift us up when we're down, and give us everything that we ask in Jesus’ Name. We read these scriptures everyday, yet we're still in bondage, why? It's because we don't have a personal relationship with God. We don't see God as our "Father" in Heaven, even when we say it. Some of us can't understand how much He truly loves us, so we distance ourselves from Him, because of a lack of Faith. Our lack of Faith is due to our ignorance of who He is, and what He's about. God's love is so simple, that we make it complicated. The truth is just as simple as Jesus explains it: “...Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. (John 16:23-24) As well as how John explains in: Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight. And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. (1 John 3:21-23) I can list so many verses of scripture that promise the same things, but if you don't believe them, then they won't do you any good. When Jesus asked His disciples "who do you say that I am?" that was a defining moment in their relationship, because He needed them to understand what they were doing. We follow certain rules and regulations, without knowing why we're following them. You may look at your life and wonder, "if God says He'll supply our every need, then why am I suffering, doesn't He know that I'm in need". God is a God of Love, and requires that same action in return. Every promise He's made to us is there for redemption, because He's given us a choice. He loves us enough to offer us guidance through life, but it's up to us to follow His lead. He offers us wisdom, but we have to ask and seek it. He offers us blessings of all kinds, but we have to acknowledge them, and be able to manage a little before He blesses us with a lot. Do you notice a pattern here? The fact that God will give us everything we need, exactly when we needed it, should give us the peace we've been searching for, all our life. The pursuit of happiness is the life story of every human being, and the key lives right in our heart. We're in His presence every single day, and He waits for us to speak to Him. He wants to hear us laugh, and see us smile; yet He allows the tears and the pain, just to be able to keep us near. God sees our heart, not our sin, flaws, education level, credit score, or wealth, but our heart. He sees each of us as if we're the one and only person in the entire world. He wants nothing but the best for us, and that's why He pushes us through the trials and tribulations of life, in hopes that we can see in ourselves, what He sees in us, through the blood of Jesus. This is the God we serve, so never hesitate to talk to Him whenever you want, speak about Him to all of who's willing to listen, and dream about the day you'll get to meet Him face to face. Take that warm feeling that you have in your heart whenever you think of Him, and allow that to dictate your actions, prayers, and lifestyle. If you claim to be a Christian, know what that means, and live it everyday. Do your part, which is to love without fail, and God will do the rest. Daily Devotional Day & Night
HAPPY TUESDAY!
Today's scriptures are about meditating on God, His ways, His words, and His wisdom. Meditation is necessary to get through daily life. This is a necessity for each of us, and it gives us a chance to just listen and process God’s commandments. It allows us to review the different lessons of the day, and gain instructions for the future. Prayer and meditation goes hand and hand, you shouldn't have one without the other. Prayer is said to be a "Conversation" with God, but what is a conversation? The word conversation is defined: informal interchange of thoughts, information, etc., by spoken words. If prayer is having a conversation with God, then through this “interchange of thoughts”, we must give Him time to speak. He cannot do that, unless He has our undivided attention, and that's what meditation provides. There are stories in the bible, where He's gotten peoples attention through loud boisterous acts, and He still works that way, when need be. However, meditation is needed to maintain a healthy relationship on a daily basis. I'm a talker, as you can tell by the amount that I write everyday. If you think I type a lot, you should hear me speak, especially when I'm passionate about something. If you're anything like me, meditation can be hard, because we're constantly in deep thought about something, and/or constantly sharing those thoughts and ideas with God. It's hard to take a moment and just listen. That's why it's something that we must train ourselves to do. You can start by reading a verse or passage of scriptures, and asking God to speak to you, and reveal His wisdom through it. The act of meditation shows God that you love Him, and that you're seeking His instructions about life, because you truly want to live righteously. You're seeking His Kingdom and His wisdom, and allowing Him time to share His thoughts and love with you. Have you ever had a conversation with someone who never allows you to speak? Do you have that friend who's always asking for favors, but can't be counted on to do a favor for anyone else? Do you have a person in your life that takes you for granted? Well each day we go without meditating on the Word of God, that's exactly what we do to Him. How does that make you feel when it's done to you? I have to be honest, my life is busy, and I don't get much "quiet" time, before I go to bed at night, or when I wake up in the morning. However, I can find time to get on Facebook and catch up with old friends, or watch those TV shows or movies I missed during the week, but meditation sometimes takes a back burner. On the other hand, I use the time when I'm on my way to or from work, to just sit and drive quietly and listen to God. No radio, no talking, just listening to God. That's a good way to start, but I'm still busy watching the road, fussing at negligent drivers, or complaining about traffic, so that isn't totally what God is asking for. He's asking for 100% of me. Some people have prayer closets or prayer rooms they can go to alone and meditate. That's a wonderful option, because it's important to rid ourselves of any distractions, and just listen to God. It’s great to take time out to focus on His love and mercy, thank Him for His blessings, and ask for guidance. I can guarantee you that this will strengthen your relationship with God, and take your faith to another level, because it deepens your understanding of who He is. You're not always listening for a voice, or for this "burning bush" type of interaction, but you're enjoying the presence of God, and He'll fill your Spirit with everything you're looking for and more. We should end each day with God, starting with a prayer, confessing our sins, and sharing our joys and concerns. Then ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to your bible study, and take some time to study God's word. Lastly, take some time to just be in God's presence, through meditation. Some people meditate for an hour, some for a few minutes, but you do what's on your heart. You take as much time as you need, your Holy Spirit will lead the way. You can start off by committing to 5-10 straight minutes of just sitting in the quiet, and listening for God's still quiet voice. Do these until you form a habit, and it will come naturally from there. It's written: Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. (Psalms 19:14) This is the attitude we should have in life, because God's love is all a part of His grace. He loves us without expecting anything but our love in return. His love never fades, and He'll never leave nor forsake us, so we should find meditation to be a privilege and not a chore. It's good to know that God wants our undivided attention, so He can bless us with the wisdom to claim the abundance that Jesus came to give. When I think of it that way, I can't wait to get home, and spend some quiet time alone with my Heavenly Father. I'm sure He has some wonderful News for me. If you don't know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you cannot have that connection with God. He’s the only way to establish that close bond, so what are you waiting for? Pray and ask Jesus to be Lord of your life, and from there you can work on your relationship with God. My favorite verses today are: Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. (Psalm 1:1-2)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
HAPPY MONDAY!
As of yesterday, we've officially entered into Holy Week. This week represents the last week of Jesus' life on earth. Yesterday, my Pastor preached about the hope that the death and resurrection of Christ brings to our life. I try to watch the movie “Passion of Christ” every year around this time, to get a sense of what Jesus’ death was really like. This helps keep me centered, because I know He suffered all of that pain for me. This is the last week of the Lenten season, and I hope you've grown closer to Christ, because that's one the most important reasons for this forty-day journey. Jesus taught us how to have a stronger and deeper faith, as well as a trusting and open relationship with God. His death on the cross, over 2,000 yeas ago made that possible, and it's time for some self-examination. Jesus gave up His life for us, what have you given up for Him? Through this week, walk with Christ as He faces the end, and the beginning of His life. Yesterday, we celebrated his entrance into Jerusalem, which is called Palm Sunday. Maundy Thursday we celebrate the His last supper (day before death), Friday is "Good Friday" (crucifixion day), and Sunday is Easter (resurrection day!). There are many different ways to celebrate, and it's different with each denomination. Just know that Jesus' passion was love for all mankind, and that includes you. Have a wonderful day, and be blessed family!
Today's scriptures are about receiving our Eternal resting place in Heaven. The one thing we can count on, upon our death, as believers of Christ, is a mansion in Heaven. Jesus said: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also." (John 14:1-3) From the beginning of the creation of the world, God has called us to be His children, and when we accepted His calling on our life, we were given a permanent place in Heaven. Through Christ we are all Heaven bound, and that's a reason to rejoice! By faith we can accomplish anything on this earth, because Jesus has already conquered death, so there's nothing else holding us back from victory. When we were old sinful beings, we had everything to fear, because sin was the weight around our neck, which caused us to drown in the world of deceit, lies, envy, malice, addiction, and any other evil we can think of. When Jesus died on the cross He took on all sin, once He was resurrected, He was renewed and restored. When we choose to believe in Christ, we receive “salvation”, which is the restoration and renewal of our Spirit, and includes the security of our Eternity. Paul wrote: In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory. In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory. (Eph. 1:11-14) We’re “joint heirs” of the Kingdom of God, so when Paul refers to our “inheritance”, he’s referring to the promise Jesus made long ago. As long as we believe, we’re going to receive our “purchased possession”. Jesus paid the price on the cross, and we’ve been signed, sealed, and delivered into the hands of God, by His blood. His Holy Word says that this is a “guarantee”, and cannot be removed. We’ve been redeemed, and when our time is up on this earth, we’re going to His glory. God loves us so much that He gave His one and only Son to die for our redemption. He loves us so much that He sacrificed Himself, so that we could live all eternity with Him in Heaven. He loves us so much that He’s forgiven every mistake we’ll ever make, and all He asks in return is our love. Heaven is far more beautiful than I could ever explain I’m sure, but as long as I’m with both God and Jesus, nothing else matters. Neither I, nor anyone else can offer you salvation, but I can show the way, through my Holy Spirit. The first step is to confess to God that you’re a sinner, and then ask Jesus to come into your life as Lord and Savior. As long as you believe that He lives, I look forward to seeing you in Heaven. Prayer, through Christ, is your only connection with God until you get Heaven, so do it earnestly, lovingly, and most importantly, often. My favorite verse today is: There is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:8)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
HAPPY FRIDAY!
Today's scriptures are about our individual duties as servants of the Lord. We are commanded to be good stewards of the Lord. God blesses each of us with individual gifts and talents, which are meant to work together, to somehow benefit the strengthening of His Kingdom. Hard work is something that is instilled within us, starting with the work of Moses, and through the life of Jesus and His disciples. Jesus worked tirelessly for God, and made sure all of His time was committed to fellowship, and teaching the Word. We each are "ministers" in our own right, because we have a story to tell. God makes sure He instills His wisdom within all believers, and the Holy Spirit gives us everything we need to hone, use, and perfect our talents. Ministry isn't only comprised of being in the pulpit preaching, but could be a number of things. Anything in a positive form, that teaches the love of God, is considered a ministry. My church is a "Disciples of Christ" denomination, and we have a number of different ministries. We have the fun ministry, a ministry that feeds the homeless, children’s ministry, seed ministry, and the sick and shut-in ministry, just to name a few. It's written: And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matt. 25:18-20) This is Jesus' commandment to all of us, and He meant for us to make His presence known throughout the world, and whatever you feel is the best way for you to do that is okay. If it makes you feel good in your heart, follow that path, because God has laid it out for you. My heart is grieved when I read the news, and different gossip blog sites, because so many are lost. Very few know the truth about life, salvation, or Jesus Christ. Everyone's preoccupied with money, fashion, fame, drugs, alcohol, and lust. The only way the next generation will be able to change is if we form our ministries, and take our duties as disciples, or stewards, seriously. It's up to each individual, because we have an obligation, as followers of Christ, to do so. Do you think I always want to write these e-mails daily? Sometimes I'm not motivated or inspired, and just want to skip it, but there's something inside of me that keeps me going. It's my responsibility to God, and to those of you who rely on His word through my e-mails. It's my ministry, which is a seed that was planted three years ago by God, has been watered, pruned, and cared for by the Holy Spirit, through me. It will continue to grow, as long as I stay true to my calling. There's no better reward than to do what God called you to do. The long nights and cramped fingers don't matter, because I get a greater reward in Heaven. Paul wrote: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:1-2) When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we begin this renewal process, where we die to our old sinful self, and are reborn as Holy children of God. In that transformation, we'll go through refinement, cleansing, and as we grow, we'll be given different tasks. These tasks are unique to each individual, though some may seem similar. For example, I've known since I was in kindergarten that I was supposed to teach in some sort of way. Teaching is very much my passion, but I've avoided it for a long time. However, I should've been asking God, what and how I'm supposed to teach. Now that I'm moving toward that path, I feel more at peace, and have an immense inner joy. I want you to reach deep down within yourself, and think about your passion, and what brings your joy. Do you feel like you're fulfilled in your life, or that you're making a difference, if even to just one or two people? God has clearly laid out a path for each of us, and it's up to us to seek out His will, and be open when He calls. There are times that we're meant to just sit, learn, and build our faith, but ultimately, we're created to be stewards for the Lord. If you don't have a personal relationship with Christ, you cannot be an adequate disciple, or build a strong ministry. You may not want to accept it, but that's what we're each called to do. Establish a strong bond with Jesus, and He'll work out the rest. He's a prayer away, and I'll be happy to pray with you if you need help. My favorite verse today is: As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. (1 Peter 4:10)

Today's scriptures are about our individual duties as servants of the Lord. We are commanded to be good stewards of the Lord. God blesses each of us with individual gifts and talents, which are meant to work together, to somehow benefit the strengthening of His Kingdom. Hard work is something that is instilled within us, starting with the work of Moses, and through the life of Jesus and His disciples. Jesus worked tirelessly for God, and made sure all of His time was committed to fellowship, and teaching the Word. We each are "ministers" in our own right, because we have a story to tell. God makes sure He instills His wisdom within all believers, and the Holy Spirit gives us everything we need to hone, use, and perfect our talents. Ministry isn't only comprised of being in the pulpit preaching, but could be a number of things. Anything in a positive form, that teaches the love of God, is considered a ministry. My church is a "Disciples of Christ" denomination, and we have a number of different ministries. We have the fun ministry, a ministry that feeds the homeless, children’s ministry, seed ministry, and the sick and shut-in ministry, just to name a few. It's written: And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matt. 25:18-20) This is Jesus' commandment to all of us, and He meant for us to make His presence known throughout the world, and whatever you feel is the best way for you to do that is okay. If it makes you feel good in your heart, follow that path, because God has laid it out for you. My heart is grieved when I read the news, and different gossip blog sites, because so many are lost. Very few know the truth about life, salvation, or Jesus Christ. Everyone's preoccupied with money, fashion, fame, drugs, alcohol, and lust. The only way the next generation will be able to change is if we form our ministries, and take our duties as disciples, or stewards, seriously. Daily Devotional Day & Night
HAPPY THURSDAY!
I'm grateful for the Lenten season, but even more excited that it's coming to a close. How are you doing so far? Forty days are longer than you anticipated isn't it? This upcoming Sunday is Palm Sunday, so we're a little over a week away from celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. This upcoming week, starting Sunday, we'll commemorate the week of Jesus' death. Palm Sunday celebrates when Jesus entered Jerusalem a few days before He was betrayed. The story is found in John 12:12-19. The people of Jerusalem welcomed Jesus with Palm branches, which were used as a " symbol of triumph and of victory". As He was entering the city, they shouted “ Hosanna! ‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ The King of Israel!” This Sunday, collect your Palm leaves, and allow them to symbolize your “triumph and victory” over whatever may have you in bondage, because that's what Jesus died to give you. Don't forget to praise His Holy Name in the process! Enjoy the remainder of your day, and be blessed family.
Today's scriptures are about the Lord's promises to never forsake us. I'm so grateful that God is not like any human being on this earth. He has promised, from the beginning of time, to never leave nor forsake us. What does it mean to be forsaken? The word forsake is defined: to quit or leave entirely; abandon; desert. I don't think that's a concept that we could easily grasp, because we're only able to understand those things that are logical. To know that God is with us at all times, could seem like a fable, but it's true. This is a wonderful thing, because we could always count on Him to be right there when we call. Whenever we're in need, lonely, or in pain, He's right there. When we're happy, and rejoicing, He’s there to share in that as well. He'll always be there because He loves us. I remember a day, not too long ago, when I was going through something, and I called all of my closest friends, my mother, sister, and father, but no one answered, and a small still voice said to me, "Saundra, talk to me". It was like an epiphany. I told God all that was on my heart, I laughed and cried with Him, and He was there to give me the comfort that I was seeking all along. It's written: A man who has friends must himself be friendly, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. (Proverbs 12:24) Jesus also said: No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. (John 15:15) This is a reason to rejoice! Jesus has formed our bond, by His blood, and so God waits anxiously to hear from us. He delights in us, and wants to be a part of everything we do. Even when we sin, He's there, quick to forgive. When we're running around with no aim or direction, He's waiting on us to seek His guidance. He's never too busy, and nothing is ever too small to share with Him, because He longs for our fellowship. Are you one of those people who only talk to God when you're in desperate need? Do seek people who you assume to be "holier" than you, to pray when you need a miracle from God? I have good news for you; you no longer have to think that way, because God is always with you. As long as you pray with a sincere heart, in Jesus' Name, He’ll listen, and answer. When you cry out to Him, He'll comfort you, no matter how many sins you've committed. When you ask Him for wisdom, He'll grant it. We need to be sure we're keeping God on that personal level, because that's where He wants us to be. Yes, He's the Alpha and the Omega, but He cares as much about you and me, as He does the affairs of the entire world. After all, He intentionally sought us, as if we were lost sheep. We frequently rely on, and trust in, our fellow man (or woman) for the comfort that can only come from God. Human minds aren't designed to always “be there”, so we have the ability to hurt each other. We're prone to let one another down, because none of us are perfect. If we're not in tune with God, it's impossible to be truly in tuned with anyone else. God's love, the Agape love, is bliss, and will never fade, but human love can, and in a number of cases will. Anytime we rely on another human to be our all and all, we'll eventually be let down or disappointed, because the flesh is naturally weak and selfish. God is the only one who will never forsake us. My intention is not to convince you to never trust another human being, but I'm urging you to Love God with all of your heart, and to trust in Him first. When you're doing that He will ensure that everyone, and everything else is aligned. In the words of the Apostle Paul, “Pray without ceasing.” If you're tired of being let down, or struggling with emptiness in your heart, then you're missing a very important component. Jesus is the Sealer of your fate, and the Author of your eternity, so be sure to build a close relationship with Him. Take Dr. Stanley's "God Quiz" today! Daily Devotional Day & Night
HAPPY WEDNESDAY!
Today's scriptures are about believing in God. It means more to God that you believe in Him with your whole heart, than any thing else in the world. Knowing that He's real, and reverencing Him, is all you need to start growing in your faith walk. Faith is the foundation of our relationship with God. Jesus always stressed that truth in His teachings. The stories about the barren fig tree, the prodigal son, walking on water, healing the sick, and resurrecting the dead, were all based upon Faith. There are numerous scriptures in the bible, where God said, in so many words, "All you have to do is believe in me". We can only receive salvation if we believe in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. We must not only believe that He was born by a virgin, but also that He was God in the flesh. We should believe in the miracles He performed, His death on the cross, and His resurrection three days later. We must believe that He sits on a throne in Heaven, at God's right hand, and His shed blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness. That’s all that’s required to receive eternal life. Jesus said: Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. (John 6:47) Notice neither He nor I ever said change your life, be perfect, stop sinning, etc. The two most important requirements for salvation are to believe in Him, and love Him. God will take care of everything else, through His Holy Spirit, which lives within us. We're taught from children to believe in ourselves, and that we could achieve anything we put our mind to, and in most cases that is true. If you have enough belief, hope, and faith in something you want, then you will achieve it. There are many successful people, who aren't believers in Jesus Christ. They accomplished everything they put their mind to, just by believing in themselves. Just imagine how much more they could've accomplished, if they applied half of that faith in God, and His ability provide their success. As believers, we must take that same principle, and apply it to our relationship with God. Believe Him to answer all prayers, and give you success; put your mind to it, and you’ll accomplish anything you want, by Christ. I'm talking about two totally different measures of success, because God’s view of success is totally different from the world's view. What other people think or say about us, is nowhere near as important as what God thinks of us. I cannot stress enough the importance of focusing on God, and God alone. Our every decision should be made with Him in mind, because that show's Him how much we love Him. It show's Him that we're committed to Him, we believe Him to do all that He's promised, and we trust Him with all our heart. If you know that all things are possible by faith, and believe in God, then why do you worry? Why the depression, weariness, and stress? Why is there crime, hatred, jealously and envy, if you know that God will supply your every need? Why lie, cheat, and steal, if you believe with all your heart, that the Holy Spirit walks with you every day? The answers lie within us, our maturity level, and most importantly our knowledge. We start our faith walk as "children", and we gradually grow into mature wise adults in Spirit. We're conformed to soldiers in the army of the Lord, and begin helping others achieve what's been revealed to us. There's true freedom in the wisdom of God! There's true rest in knowing that no matter what, He has you covered! There's true peace in knowing that if tomorrow never comes, you’ll be in Heaven, and God will say "well done good and Faithful servant". Imagine being adorned with jewels, and lead to your mansion, that Jesus prepared for you long ago. Freedom is what Jesus came to give us, and that freedom gives us true life. When I say life, I mean the ability to live, with an indescribable peace. God rewards those who love Him, but how could you truly love someone you don't believe in? It's impossible by earthly standards, and surely impossible by God’s standards. It's written: But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6) Your first step to freedom is by believing in Jesus Christ. Once you confess your sins, the fact that you believe, and invite Him into your heart, your life's journey begins. You'll start off with a “crawl” in most cases, but the more your seek Him, the faster you'll be able to walk with Him. In the words of Pastor D.U. Cooper, "Try Him out"! My favorite verses today are: With God nothing shall be impossible. And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord. (Luke 1:37,45)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
HAPPY THURSDAY!
Today's scriptures are about yearning to escape the weakness of the flesh, and to thirst for Christ. Have you ever thirsted for anything in life? I'm not speaking of food or drink, but about yearning, or wanting something so badly, that you could taste it. We all have, I'm sure. We’re naturally inquisitive, but would you say that you thirst for the Lord? When Jesus initially enters our heart, at the point of Salvation, a change begins to happen. In some people it happens rapidly, but most will notice small subtle changes. In any event, you’ll get a certain yearning for the knowledge of the Lord. All of a sudden you start to shed old habits, and lose your craving for worldly things. As you begin to feed your appetite for the wisdom and knowledge of God, you'll begin to want more. Through this growth process, you'll have the enemy at one hand, attempting to contradict everything you learn, in hopes of turning you away from the path of righteousness. This is called the Spiritual warfare. That's the battle of good versus evil, which sounds like something from a fictional movie, but it’s real. The enemy will tempt you in every way you could imagine, and will especially attack your weaknesses, causing you to second guess even your Salvation. At the same time, your Spirit, which has been made Holy, by the blood of Christ, will thirst for Jesus. You’ll get to the point where you want to be "right", and do and say the "right" things. When the Holy Spirit takes control, all you’ll want to be is a "good and faithful servant", and God's sees that. It's written: Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. (Matt. 5:6) Spiritual warfare doesn't get easier, it only becomes harder as we grow, but I have good News for you, God simply continues to make us stronger. He'll turn our weaknesses into strengths, and those things that once kept us in bondage, will give us the power to help free others. We go through hardships, trials, and tribulation in life, to strengthen our faith in God, help us understand the consequences of our actions, as well as to provide testimony for other lost sheep. There will be times where we'll get to a point, where the pain is so bad, that we have no other option but to drop on our knees and cry out to God, but that's all a part of life. The best thing about rain is the rainbow, and the best thing about pain is the joy of our deliverance. I want nothing more than to be a perfect person, and to live a perfect life. I wish I had enough money, power, and resources to heal the world of all of the hunger and pain. Most importantly, I wish that I didn't make so many foolish mistakes, but the truth is, that will never happen, because I'm just an imperfect human being, who's "a work in progress". Conviction is a wonderful thing, but at the time we're going through it, it doesn't feel very good. However, to know that we serve a God who is so loving, kind, and forgiving, that it doesn't matter if we fall short, offers peace through freedom! Did you know that you're free? Jesus has freed you from the penalties of sin, and has given you strength your never knew you had. It's written: Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Cor. 12:10) When you thirst, "seek ye first the Kingdom of God", and He'll give you the water of Life. It's written: And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. (John 6:35) It's natural to get overwhelmed with life, it happens to all of us, but Jesus said "come to me", so allow the fact that He'll always be there, give you the courage you need to overcome, and triumph over all that ails you. Through Christ, you never have to thirst again. If you don't know Jesus as Lord and Savior, than I want you to know that you've been chosen, and until you heed His call on your life, your thirst and hunger will get deeper and stronger, and He's the only one who could fulfill you. My favorite verse today is: Our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. (Philippians 3:20)

Today's scriptures are about yearning to escape the weakness of the flesh, and to thirst for Christ. Have you ever thirsted for anything in life? I'm not speaking of food or drink, but about yearning, or wanting something so badly, that you could taste it. We all have, I'm sure. We’re naturally inquisitive, but would you say that you thirst for the Lord? When Jesus initially enters our heart, at the point of Salvation, a change begins to happen. In some people it happens rapidly, but most will notice small subtle changes. In any event, you’ll get a certain yearning for the knowledge of the Lord. All of a sudden you start to shed old habits, and lose your craving for worldly things. As you begin to feed your appetite for the wisdom and knowledge of God, you'll begin to want more. Through this growth process, you'll have the enemy at one hand, attempting to contradict everything you learn, in hopes of turning you away from the path of righteousness. This is called the Spiritual warfare. That's the battle of good versus evil, which sounds like something from a fictional movie, but it’s real. The enemy will tempt you in every way you could imagine, and will especially attack your weaknesses, causing you to second guess even your Salvation. At the same time, your Spirit, which has been made Holy, by the blood of Christ, will thirst for Jesus. You’ll get to the point where you want to be "right", and do and say the "right" things. When the Holy Spirit takes control, all you’ll want to be is a "good and faithful servant", and God's sees that.
