HAPPY TUESDAY!

Today I wanted to write about seeing the world through Jesus’ eyes. Some days I get a glimpse of how Jesus felt about mankind—lots of compassion and sympathy, which allows Him to love us unconditionally. He loved us because of our heart, and not our actions. He never failed to see the potential in every human being, because He understood the power of faith. We often say, “If only people would do this, or think like that, the world would be a better place”, and most of the time we’re right. I can wholeheartedly say that if every believer took on the mind, heart, and spirit of Christ, the world would be a much better place. At the same time, we live in the midst of evil, which tempts us, and makes disobedience look so very appealing. It’s hard to stay as focused as Christ, but it isn’t impossible. There are still Pastors, disciples, prophets, and apostles, and everyday Christians, who dedicated their lives to spreading the gospel of Christ, just as Paul, Peter, Stephen, and James did. We’re able to do it because they’ve chosen to see the world through Jesus’ eyes.

Love and faith are the two most important factors that will help us grow in our daily walk. It’s a gradual process, and when we accept Jesus as Lord, we’re “born again”, which implies that we start off very small in our spirit. The more we feed, nurture, and exercise our faith it’ll grow beyond temptation, all because we’ve inherited the Kingdom of God. Jesus said: “What shall we say the kingdom of God is like, or what parable shall we use to describe it? It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.” (Mark 4:30-32) When we plant small seeds of faith in our life, that plant will grow to unthinkable magnitudes. The more we grow, the more we begin to see Jesus for who He is, but most importantly, see ourselves for who we are in Him.

Jesus had the faith that He had, because He knew the Father. He believed in His promises, and understood His love. He worried more about pleasing God than man, because He understood His temporal earthly existence, and didn’t want to waste any time in hatred, un-forgiveness, prolonged anger or strife. He merely wanted to show God’s love to everyone He came in contact with. He once said: “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” (Matt 5:43-45)

I’m a firm believer in the saying “put yourself in their shoes”, which means to try to understand what other people are going through, before being judging them. Love doesn’t cost anything; Jesus gave it to us freely, so we’re obligated to give it away just as freely. I’ve work in Customer Service for the last ten years, and I’ve spoken to people from all walks of life. I’ve spoken to some downright evil people, whose main objective was to transfer their negative energy onto me before they even picked up the phone to call. I try not to let these people bother me, because I don’t know what’s happening in their life. There had to be an event in their past, that makes them interact with others in such a manner. Most of the time, I’ll say a quick prayer for them, because it takes more energy to return the evil, then to love freely.

Being a Christian is a lot easier than it looks, all you have to do is focus on God. When things are wonderful, you’re reaching all of your goals, and are surrounded with love—focus on God. When it seems that everything has gone as bad as it could ever go in life, and you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders—focus on God. Faith in the God that we serve, and in our powerful freedom through Jesus Christ, will transform our life in ways that we never imagined. Every day that we consciously walk with Jesus, we’ll become more and more like Him, and begin to see the world through brand new eyes. I can testify that it’s the most liberating thing that could ever happen in your life, but you have to allow it to happen. I’m gradually dropping my fears, and solely depending on God to see me through each and every situation, and He’s granting me with the wisdom that I asked for in the process.

Today’s scriptures are about being part man and part Spirit. We are like Jesus in so many ways, after all, we were made in His imagine. After God molded Adam from the dirt, He breathed the breath of life into Him (Gen. 2:7). From that point on, we were a part of Him. He took a part of the earth, and a part of His spirit, and created mankind. From the beginning of time, we were precious, royal, and ruler of all of the earth, because we specially made. When Adam and Eve was told to be fruitful and multiply, it took two parts to make another human being; one cannot work without the other. It’s been that way since we were created, we have a special bond with God.

Then there was Adam, and how He fell from God’s good graces. It was a test of His will, and He failed, but God wouldn’t totally forget about His people. He continued to be with us, and when He saw fit, as it’s written: The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth (John 1:14). God sent His Son, to not only save us from the pits of hell, but He sent Him to teach us how to live like His children. It’s written: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory. (1 Tim. 3:16) Jesus taught us the laws of God in its natural form, love. He helped us understand, the reality of our flesh, but the potential of our Spirit. He gave us precious knowledge, which helps us break free of the hold of the enemy, through our flesh. Although we’re part flesh, we’re more than a “creation” to God. God so loved us that He gave His only Son to die for our sins.

I think of all of the stories I’ve read about Jesus, in the Gospels, and how many times He corrected His followers regarding their faith in the power that’s within. What a lot of us don’t understand is that we’re predestined to be powerful vessels for God, that’s the reason we’re here. It’s more important for us to ask God what we can do for Him, then for us to constantly ask Him for things. Granted, there’s nothing we can do without God, and He encourages our continuous prayers. However, it delights His heart when we’re willing to do things for Him. Jesus’ entire life was a testimony, and a lesson to each believer, on How to please God. Jesus knew His rightful place in the Kingdom, and He encouraged us to learn, and respect ours. He was here in the flesh, but surrendered to His Spirit, which was one with God. He’s given each of us the ability to do the same.

What does it take to abandon our dependence upon the flesh, and rely on our Spirit to take us to the “promised land”? We can still experience our own “land of milk and honey”, but it takes us to die to the flesh. It takes us to want to transform our worldly thinking into Christ-like thinking. It takes us to follow Jesus out of the wilderness. The people of Israel didn’t have Jesus to show them the way, so just imagine how much more of an advantage we have. When we realize that Jesus hasn’t left us, He’s still very much a part of us. When we accept Him as Lord and Savior, He awakens that Spiritual side that we were born with. He has made it possible for us to be joined with Him, complete and whole, when we leave this earth.

I urge you not to spend another day wasting time on your flesh, but focus more on your Spirit. John the Baptist declared the good news to all those who would hear: Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. (John 1:16-18) Sing praise to the Lord, because Jesus Christ lives!!! He lived and He died to allow us to be whole in the Spirit. Don’t ever forget that He still lives now and forever more, in order to allow us to tap into our Spiritual side, and live through Him. Moses gave us the Law’s of the flesh, but Jesus gives us authority to overcome those laws, through the Spirit.

If you don’t know Jesus as Lord, don’t be alarmed it’s not too late to get to know Him. If you’re reading this right now, God has a calling on your life, and is waiting on you to answer. Everything happens for a reason, and there are no mistakes in life. So take this opportunity to tap into your Spiritual side. Ask Jesus to come into your life as Lord and Savior. Today's scriptures are about being called Sons of God, by His grace, and His grace alone. There's no amount of good work we can do to became "sons (or daughters) of God”, it's a privilege. Because of His grace, He gave His Only begotten Son to die for our sins, and it's His blood that washes us clean, and makes it possible for us to become Sons of God. Before Jesus, we were slaves to the flesh, and we weren't under His law. It's written: But when the time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons. Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. (Gal. 4:4-7) When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, and are baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we instantly become heirs; this is the Law of God.

A new life begins when we inherit the Kingdom of God. We become responsible for the "church" as a whole, and not just for ourselves. However, our first responsibility is to grow in the Word, and in our Spirit, so that we could promote growth in others. We must focus on becoming "like Christ", and offering the gift of salvation to the lost. We must offer God's wonderful gifts of healing, wholeness, truth, and deliverance, because these are gifts that could only come through Christ. The world can't give us these things, yet every human being yearns for something more. We all yearn to be completed in some type of way, and those who are lost, will always find temporary fulfillment. The enemy offers many options, and he's working just as hard to win souls. He'll offer us the comfort of a spouse who's all wrong for us, or the ability to escape reality through drunkenness. He allows us to lose ourselves in the physical pleasures of sex with any and everyone that shows us attention. These are the realities of the lost and unsaved, and they face them every day.

I thank God for saving me! I thank Him for delivering me from my enslavement, because I can now see how much of a slave I really was. I share stories of my past, because they are testimonies. I have suffered with Christ, and I'm willing to suffer again, as long as I do my part to strengthen the Kingdom of God. I am filled with so much joy, because of the love and grace of God, that I cannot go one day without telling someone that God is good. He will always get my praises, because I know what He's done for me. He's allowed me to try to accomplish the simplest things on my own, and I tried and failed. He's given me a vision of my blessings, and told me "to receive these things all you have to do is...", and I've completely ignored Him, and did what I wanted to do, so I've experienced His wrath. I've been high and low, close and far, lost and found, so I couldn't I keep these things a secret, because I know I'm not the only one who needs Him. I've gone days without praying, and then experienced the feeling of being lost and alone, and I've spent hours, day in and day out in prayer, and felt fulfilled and immensely loved. I know, without a shadow doubt, that God is real, and He loves me. He loves me, the once old sinful and wicked me. I know for a fact that if He can love me, He can love you. Whoever you were, are, or hope to be! He's waiting to hear from you.

The most wonderful thing about grace is that it doesn't cost us anything. We are rewarded for giving our life to Christ! We're rewarded for loving Him, and having faith. We're rewarded for praying, studying His Word, and loving the people we come in contact with. These things aren't hard to do; all we need to do is give Him some time, spending time on our knees in prayer. Whenever I'm struggling with growth, or moving forward with something I know He's instructed me to do, it always comes back to my prayer life. Communication is the key in any relationship, and we're working to develop a Father/child relationship with God, through Jesus. We're building a bond that cannot be broken by the enemy. Through this, we've taken on the "character of the New Man", as Paul explains to the Colossians: Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. (Col. 3:10-15)

In Christ we are a new creature, but without Him, we are lost, hollow and alone. That's a horrible feeling, and I would never want to experience it again. From my heart to yours, I want you to understand that Christ is the only way to achieve true peace. Happiness is provisional, because as followers of Christ, we expect to suffer as He suffered, but peace withstands the test of time. Did you know that by God's grace you can pray to Him right now, confessing your sins with a full heart, and ask for forgiveness and He'll forgive you on the spot? HAPPY FRIDAY!

I pray all is well with everyone, and you're enjoying the end of another workweek (for most). We finally made through the week, and I'm drained, but I still feeling good. TGIF! I'm happy that I'm learning how to find the positive in everything, because that truly does change your entire outlook on life. I used to be that "I know but" type of person, who always chose to see the worst in things. Someone would say, "that's nice car" and I would say, "I know but it burns a lot of gas". I guess I still have a little bit of the "but" mentality in me, however God's helping me work on that, especially when it comes to myself. I guess in being a semi-perfectionist, I see things as, “that's good but it could be great”. That's a gift and a curse, because on one hand it helps me strive to do my best in everything, but on the other, it causes me sometimes set unreachable goals, and when I fail, I then become a procrastinator. How do you overcome that? There are several ways I'm sure, but I find answers in the Serenity prayer, "Lord grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference". Overcoming procrastination and being a perfectionist, is only possible by having the wisdom to know the difference between the things you can and cannot change. Accept and love who you are, because that's exactly who God created you to be, and continue to work on your own greatness, for you and God, and not because the world deems it important, special, or beautiful. Enjoy your weekend family, and be blessed!

Today's scriptures are about the light that leads us. Life is full of exhale moments. You know the times in life when something bothers you, or has you in bondage, and it seems like you're always holding your breath? When you finally overcome those things, or reach a solution to the problem, it's like you can finally exhale. Throughout my Christian faith walk, I've had moments when it felt like I just wasn't growing. It was like I was stuck on this emotional rollercoaster that was going nowhere fast. I was frustrated because the more I tried to do right, bad things would happen, which would lead me right back to doing wrong. It was a wilderness moment, and a time of refinement. Dr. Stanley said, in one of his teachings, people are too busy trying to change their life, or become a better person, before they surrender to God. He went on to say, “the truth is, we're incapable of doing that on your own”. After I heard Him say that, I exhaled. Once I found out that we're incapable of becoming righteous without Jesus, it gave me hope. It allowed me to let myself off the hook a bit, in order to focus more on learning the ways of God. At first, I was beating myself up, because I thought I should be, or do better, but I was doing the best that I could do on my own.

Jesus taught us, in the Sermon on the Mount to, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." (Matt. 7:13-14) How do we learn how to stay on that narrow road, which leads to the narrow gate Jesus is referring too? We live in a dark world, which has great influence over the flesh, and it's very easy to sin; that gate is very wide. If we aren't purposely focusing on serving the Lord, we could easily stray from the righteous path. For example, how many Christian broadcast TV or radio stations are there, versus secular stations? Enticements are always at your fingertips, and when you're not committed to serving the Lord, you're more likely to succumb to the world.

The good news is you're not alone. God created us this way and He understands our weaknesses. He's given us salvation through Christ, which allows us to live life in abundance. Just because we live in a dark world, we aren’t necessarily of it. God has instilled a light within us, and He also lights out pathways. When we look to Him for guidance, we'll see everything so much clearer. We should pray before we make any decisions, big or small. Remember whenever we ask, He answers, so when we ask for guidance He'll show us the way. As soon as I awake in the morning, I first thank Him, and then ask Him to guide my path for the day; it’s become a habit. When I'm really confused, or faced with a big decision, I spend extra time in the prayer room. There are always times when the answers aren't really that clear. When that happens, we must spend quiet time with Him in prayer and meditation. In some cases we could fast, which helps us truly focus on Him. There are also times when we could speak in tongues, by asking the Holy Spirit to pray through us. Either way, God will show us the way, no matter what we're going through. There isn't anything too large, or too little, for Him to handle.

Do you notice a trend here? The bottom line is, life is what you make it, and you get out of it what you put in. Jesus told us to "Enter" by the narrow gate..., which requires us to take some steps. God isn't going to wave a magic wand and we’ll become this wise and powerful person. Yes we all have the light, but we have to learn how to seek it, and most importantly how to use it. Our Christian life is all about growth, remember we're once "babes in Christ”, and if we don't seek the knowledge and wisdom to grow from that point, then that's where we'll stay. I find myself straying off of the path of righteousness when I'm not into the Word of God everyday. If I go even a week without praying, reading my bible, and being surrounded by the Word in some type of way, I feel lost and in the dark. That will happen to any believer, whether you're a babe in your Faith walk, or you're a Minister who preaches in the pulpit. We're all still in the flesh, but the key to avoiding the gate that leads to destruction, is to live by the Spirit, for the Spirit, and in the Spirit.

Jesus said: "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:21) Jesus never asked us to be perfect and without sin, He only asked us to love Him, and surrender. Only then could He shape and mold us into the righteous children of God we were intended to be. Remember if you've accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, you've been chosen from the beginning of time. If you haven't chosen Jesus as Lord, then now is your time; God also chose you! If you're not sure what you believe, take some time to take the God Quiz today. For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light. (Proverbs 6:22-23)

I pray all is well with everyone, and you're enjoying another beautiful Friday-eve. I'm doing well, a little sleepy, but I'll survive. I'm looking forward to the weekend, and getting back into the kitchen. I haven't really cooked any "real food" since the menu tasting. I'm still finalizing my menu for Sunday, but I'm going to have some of the favorites like chicken empanadas and the stuffed burgers. I may even have some crab balls with the avocado relish, if I could find a great deal on crabmeat. Then we'll have the grilled chicken and spare ribs as usual, with the usual sides, such as macaroni salad, baked beans, grilled corn on the cob, and a few cold trays. Yummy! I'm getting excited just thinking about it, I can't wait until Sunday. I also want to wish all of the September babies a Happy Birthday. Have a wonderful day!



Today's scriptures are about the leaven of evil. What is Leaven? I see that word used a lot in the King James Version of the bible, and it's defined: An element, influence, or agent that works subtly to lighten, enliven, or modify a whole. I was first introduced to this word in Bake Shop class in Culinary School. Leaven is usually yeast or baking soda; something that is used to make your bread or pastries rise through fermentation. I noticed that you only need a tiny bit of leaven to make a huge loaf of bread. It may be the ingredient you'd use the least amount of in your recipe, but it has the largest impact. Today's scriptures are referring to evil as the leaven in the bread of life. I read somewhere that a pebble dropped in the ocean could start a Tsunami, and the flutter of the wings of a butterfly could start a tornado. That always stood out to me, because it's actually true, especially when it comes to evil. Where I grew up, something as small as a dirty look could end up getting a person killed. The devil uses the tactic of placing one small evil thing in our heart or mind, and if we allow that evil to fester, it could turn into a huge thing. I've seen relationships and marriages breakup over things that start off so very small, so it's very important for us to learn the ways of God, and put Him first in your relationships. As you grow in your faith walk, you'll start to easily see these evil things as they arise. In some cases you'll start to feel an evil presence around you, and in those cases you must go to God in prayer immediately. If you're trying to live a righteous life, you must separate yourself from any form of evil. For example, most drug addicts start off with just trying a little bit at first, just to have a little fun, and because all of their friends were doing it. That one time tryout turns into losing your job, home, and family. We hear all the time that the flesh is weak, but sometimes that reality doesn't hit home until we're trying to pick up the pieces, or are tired of suffering the large consequences of surrendering to the flesh. Knowing the warning signs, and removing ourselves from certain situations can help us avoid falling victim to evil. When you're trying to walk upright the devil is going to always find a way to push your buttons. He'll place people and things in our lives, to get us to stray. Studying the word of God, and establishing a consistent prayer life will help us better be able to heed the warnings from our Holy Spirit. Evil must be removed from the inside out. Start by confessing that you're a sinner, and asking Jesus to come into your heart as Lord and Savior. Next, forgive those who trespass against you (Mat. 6:12). Once you do those things, you will receive and keep the light of the Lord at all times. Attempt to refrain from sin, and remove yourself from situations that will cause anger, because that is the most common leaven used by the devil. Some things can't be avoided, but once you mature in your Spirit, and tap into that inner peace, you'll find that evil won't be so much of an issue. We'll always have that person who cuts us off in traffic, insults us, or makes some sort of prejudice judgment against us, but as children of God, we must stay focused on Him and completing His will. Never forget, that praying for those people will stop evil right in it's tracks. My favorite verses today are: Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us. Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. (1 Corinthians 5:6-8 NKJV)

HAPPY THURSDAY!

I pray all is well with everyone, and you're enjoying this hot and humid Friday eve. I'm doing well, a little sleepy, but that's okay because today is my Friday (TGIF!!!). I can't wait to get in the bed tonight. Get a good night's rest and get ready for the weekend. I'm looking forward to some fun mixed with some relaxation. There are a few family barbecues on Saturday, one for my little cousin Tony Jr. and one for my Aunt Cathy, who are both celebrating birthdays. Today is my late Uncle Craig's birthday, he's been gone since 1991, but his birthday is a time to celebrate his life. I'd like to wish everyone who's celebrating a birthday this week, a Happy and blessed birthday. Enjoy the rest of your day!

Today's scriptures are about seeking God's Wisdom. Wisdom is the most valuable thing you could every have. It's worth more than anything material in this world, because it can't be taken away from you. I've always said that you have to live with you. At the end of the day, when you lay down and close your eyes, you're left with yourself, and you must be at peace with yourself. We spend a lot of time in our lives trying to please other people, and overlook the fact that we must seek the wisdom of God to get through a life pleasing to Him. In the end it only matters if we’ve pleased Him. I looked up the word Wisdom to get the formal meaning, and of course there were several. My two favorites are: 1) the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight. 2) The sum of learning through the ages; knowledge. Wisdom is something that comes with experience. God allows us to face certain things in our lifetime to give us wisdom, and when we face our many stumbling blocks, we must first find the wisdom that comes along with it. He will give us wisdom freely, because He needs us to have the insight to share with other people. He always makes it a point to give us the wisdom that we'll need to complete the tasks He’s given us. Our relationship with God is just that, a RELATIONSHIP. He's walking with us in this life, to make sure that we have everything we need to survive. In any earthly relationship, we must get to know the other person, to better understand how we can live a harmonious life with them. When we enter a relationship, we enter as two separate people, with different personalities and ideals on life. However, we are usually with someone who has the same or similar goals that we have. Overall we coincide very well, we love each other, and show that love through our words and actions. We make sure that we learn our partner’s likes and dislikes, helping us understand how to love them better. At times we'll experience ups and downs, and won't always agree with what the other person is doing. Most of the time they're only trying to do things that will add to our life, and not tear us down. It may seem like this thing means us no good, but if we don't question that person, or ask for insight, we will never know. This is the same when it comes to our relationship with God. There are so many things that happen in our lives, which we scratch our heads about. When we go to God and ask Him for answers He will give them to us. God gives us a lot of responsibility for our Spiritual growth. Things just aren't handed to us, because He wants us to stay humble. It’s written several times that we must be crucified with Christ, in order to grow stronger everyday. Wisdom is necessary to complete our works, and is readily available when we seek Him. God’s always been slow to anger and quick to forgive, so He gives us as many chances as it takes to get things right. He's very adamant when He's trying to teach us something, because He'll keep allowing us to go through the same trials, over and over, until we get it right. Especially when we're impatient and attempt to move before Him. He asks us to be patient and wait on Him. Patience is a very necessary skill have, yet extremely hard to master, and it requires a lot of wisdom. When we pray for wisdom, the Holy Spirit will reveal it in a few different ways. Through The Holy bible, which is in fact God's living word, and it has answers to anything we could ever face. I sleep with my bible right next to me, because it's the only tangible piece of God that I will ever have on earth. I've finally become wise enough to know that when I'm going through tribulation, to seek God's insight in the situation. I first start by praying and asking Him for answers. Most of the time I'm on my knees crying out to the Lord. After I cast my cares upon Him, I ask Him to show me why I'm going through these things. When I pick up the Bible, my Spirit always leads me to a story, or verse of scripture that teaches me how to deal with that very thing, in a Godly way. He also sends certain people in our lives, often friends and family members, who we could learn from. Mostly it's someone who is, or has, gone through something similar, that could give us some insight. Sometimes it's people that have no clue what we're going through, but they have the key to what we need. God gives us the Church building, and the officers there, who are put here to offer the wisdom that they've acquired over the years. Most importantly, He allows us to learn from our own mistakes. Wisdom is something that should get stronger with time, if we go out and seek it. If you're wondering why your life is at a standstill, and it seems like nothing ever goes right, then ask God for some answers. If you have a strong yearning to pursue a goal, but just don't know how to start, ask God for wisdom and guidance, and He'll help you along the way. God is the creator of Heaven and Earth, He IS the answer. If you don't know Jesus as your Savior, then it will be very wise for you to get to know Him for yourself. He's a quick prayer away, and I'm always willing to pray with you and for you. Don’t take my word for it; Christ is whom we’re trying to be like. My favorite verses today are: We are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection. (Romans 6:4-5)
