Daily Devotional Day & Night

HAPPY TUESDAY!

Today’s scriptures are about the work of Faith. Love and Faith are both actions, and they’re to be shown rather than said. How many of us say we love something, or someone, but lack the work that goes along with it? If you believe in God, and have Faith in His promises, then you’ll reciprocate the love that He gives, and share it with others. He uses us to do His work, so when He calls us for certain tasks, then it’s up to us to have Faith in Him and in our calling. It’s difficult to believe in something you’ve never seen, but God proves Himself and His love to us every day. I’ll personally go to my grave sharing the Word of God, because I know that He’s real, since He’s shown up in my life on several occasions. He speaks to me personally, and comforts me when I need Him the most. India Arie has a song on her first album entitled “I know that God is real”, and in this song she bring up so many valid points, but at the end of the song she says, “I know God is real because He washes me new every day”. How many of us feel this way about our Heavenly Father? If you do, then that’s there the works come in. God didn’t put us here to simply work to provide food, clothing, and shelter for ourselves and our loved ones. He put us here to help strengthen His Kingdom, and each of us has a job to do. The state of the world is getting worst every day, but it’s up to us to make it better. If everyone does their part, then there wouldn’t be as many issues. We can’t wait for our President, teachers, or Pastors to do all of the work, and we just sit back and watch. It’s up to us to correct our children and teach them morals. It’s up to us to offer food to the hungry, and shelter to the homeless. We must pay our tithes, and give offerings to people in need, and volunteer our time, but not just around the holidays. It’s up to us to follow that calling to go on mission trips around the world, to spread the Gospel of Christ. In the King James Version (KJV) of the bible, the world love is substituted with the word Charity, which simply means to give to someone in need. God loved us so much, that He gave His son to die for our sins, to bring us closer to Him. He did that because we were in desperate need of help. Jesus lives in our hearts, and it’s time for us to give Him to others that are in need, through love, or charity. Give love to everyone without reproach, or expecting something in return. How could we truly believe in God, ask for daily blessings and favor, but not give any of that in return. It’s time to allow your heart to be transformed from selfish to selfless. It’s time to take on the mind and heart of Jesus, and allow Him to help us move forward in Faith and works. I’m going to leave you with this: What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? (James 2:14-20) Faith and works goes hand and hand, and without Faith in Jesus Christ, your works are in vain. Some people naturally have a good heart, but God doesn’t see it, if you haven’t accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. Say that prayer right now, and then dedicate your life to working for the Lord. If you need a prayer partner, please let me know. My favorite verse today is: It is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13)
