Daily Devotional Day & Night

HAPPY MONDAY!

Today's scriptures are about having the faith to go out and receive your inheritance. We are joint heirs to the Kingdom of God. By the blood of Jesus Christ, we have been adopted, and are now children of God. With this gift comes an inheritance, and God has something different for each of us, all we have to do is follow His lead. We’re washed in the blood of the Lamb, so we could see our paths clearer, as His light lives inside of us. It’s written: looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Heb. 12:3) Although Jesus went through some trials, and experienced hurt and pain, He’s received His inheritance, which will also ensure that we receive ours. AMEN!
When we think about all of the stories in the bible, God gave each person He used a glimpse of what they would inherit. For example, the people of Israel, who were enslaved in Egypt, were to inherit a “Land flowing with milk and honey”. It’s written: So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey… (Ex. 3:8) God always gives us a vision, or a glimpse into our future, but only gives us step by step instructions as we go along. It’s up to us to follow Him. The people of Israel wandered in the wilderness for forty years, going around the same mountain, because of disobedience. Take note, God never took their inheritance away from them, but He waited until they were ready to receive, before it was granted. Do you sometimes feel like you’re in the wilderness? Take a few moments to pray and ask God to reveal the correct path to you, and don’t forget to repent for your sins.
Next, there’s the story of Joseph, who was shown his inheritance in a dream. Unfortunately, Joseph’s dream led to his brothers hating him, because he would ultimately become a great Ruler, and they would have to bow down to him. It’s written: Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers, they hated him all the more. He said to them, "Listen to this dream I had: We were binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose and stood upright, while your sheaves gathered around mine and bowed down to it." (Gen. 37:5-7) Him telling his older brothers that they were going to bow to them didn’t sit well with them, but he had faith in this dream becoming reality. Joseph’s story is very encouraging, because he always stayed faithful and true to God. Although he suffered much tribulation at the hands of his own brothers, throughout his young adult life, he never gave up. God never gave him more than he could handle.
The key to living abundantly, is to accept God’s will for our life, because He knows what’s best for each of us, so we must be ready and willing to surrender to His calling. He created us for a particular purpose, and when we’re obedient, and prepared, we’ll receive our inheritance. We might have to endure some pain, or some uncomfortable situations at times, but God is still there, and still working on our behalf, just don’t give up on Him. Continue to stay faithful and true, and love Him with all of your heart.
You may be thinking, “what makes me qualified to receive an inheritance?”, well God is your Heavenly Father, and through Him anything’s possible. You are so very important to Him please believe me. It’s written: Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. (Matt. 10:29) I want to leave you with one of the most popular bible passages in the world, Psalms 23. It’s very fitting for today’s message, because we need to understand that God is always with us, no matter what, and He’s working out, just keep believing that He is. You’re meant to do something very great, it may not be great according to the world’s standards, but according to the His purpose and Holy will. In the end that’s all that matters. Please make sure that you know Jesus, without Him, it’s impossible to please God; you can’t truly receive your inheritance. Take the God Quiz today! My favorite verse today is: He led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. (Deuteronomy 32:10)

The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD
Forever.
