Daily Devotional Day & Night
Today’s scriptures are about being sanctified through Christ. I remember hearing the “Elders” at church say that they were “saved, holy, and sanctified through Christ”, and I always wondered what sanctified meant. I thought maybe they were special because of the role they played at the church, or because of the many years that they’ve been saved, but I knew for sure that I wasn’t sanctified. I honestly thought that I somehow wasn’t at a point in my walk with Christ, to be at the sanctified level—almost like being sanctified meant that you graduated to higher level of Christianity. However the word “sanctify” is defined: to make holy; set apart as sacred; consecrate. So you see anyone who’s accepted Jesus as Lord and savior is sanctified by His blood. We’re separated from darkness, and placed on high—righteous through Christ Jesus. If you’re anything like I was, in thinking that I wasn’t worthy or “good” enough to be sanctified, then you can rest assured in knowing that you are. You are just as righteous as the next Christian; there is nothing that’s separating us from each other, only us from the world.
I love the Gospel according to John; in chapter 16 Jesus warned His disciples that He would be leaving them. He explained how sad they would be, but eventually, their sadness would turn into joy, when finally realized what He’s done for them. He explained how His leaving would make way for the “Helper” (or Advocate in NIV), who will come to convict the world of sin (16:8-9). That’s not all He came to do, but it’s just as important, because how can truly be righteous with sin? More often than not, we sin and don’t know we’re sinning, so we need the Holy Spirit to help us make the right decisions, and lead us to repentance for our wrong decisions, through conviction. Jesus sanctifies us, but we’re still in the flesh, and are still tempted by the enemy daily. Some people mistake conviction for condemnation, and there’s a big difference between the two. It’s written: Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. (Rom. 8:1-2 NIV) Through our sanctification, we will never be utterly cast down, but we will however be convicted, to be brought back into obedience by the confession and repentance of our sins.
Jesus went on to say: “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you. (John 16:12-15) Aren’t you glad that you’re saved, sanctified, and holy? Hallelujah! Jesus came into this world, and turned everything upside down. Now the lost can be found, captives set free, and the sinners are sanctified, by His blood. There’s no one too high or low for Jesus Christ. There’s nothing too bad, evil, or despicable, that we could’ve done in the past that Jesus won’t fix. On our own we are nothing, but with Him we are everything, and being righteous children of God is more valuable than any amount or money or prestige in the world. Through Christ you were free, as soon as you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. It was then that He gave you the Holy Spirit, Who is responsible for giving you the wisdom, knowledge, and strength to overcome and endure the world.
We each are exactly where God needs us to be, there are no mistakes in life—all things happen for a reason. Don’t get so caught up in the world’s idea of success, but rather seek God’s definition of success for you. A lot of us can’t go any further in life because, 1) we haven’t taken the time to be grateful for where we are now, and 2) we aren’t obedient to the Word of God. There are times when I feel like God has given me all of the tools I need to build a solid foundation and an indestructible structure for my life, but I haven’t pulled them out of my toolbox. The toolbox is definitely open, and I even have instructions and a Helper, but I sometimes get confused as to where to start. When I start feeling that way, I go back to “square one” or some may call it “the drawing board”, and start with the Gospels of Christ. I follow His life from the beginning to the end, to get a perfect example of sanctity. There’s nobody greater than Jesus.
When I read His prayers for us in John 17, I can’t help but fall in love with Him all over again, because He asked God to make me perfect just like Him. How awesome is that?! Jesus only prayed this prayer for all believers, and I hope that’s all of you. However, if you don’t believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, what are you waiting on? He’s called you to be a part of His body; one with God through Him. All you have to do is ask, and He’ll do the rest. He has your toolbox waiting for you, and after you confess Him as Lord, He’ll also give you a Helper, Who will stay with you every step of the way. Sanctification is a choice, to find out more take the God Quiz right now. My favorite verse today is: The very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
HAPPY MONDAY!
Today’s scriptures are about the participation of Holy Spirit. Where would we be without the Holy Spirit? I can honestly say that I have no clue, and I’m not trying to find out. The Holy Spirit is such a vital part of our life, because we can’t do anything righteously without Him. He’s the Holy Spirit of God, which is given to us when we are “born again”. The book of Acts explains when the Disciples were first baptized with the Holy Spirit. Peter explained it to the people of Jerusalem, he said: Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?” (Acts 11: 16-17) The Holy Spirit lives in every believer, but unfortunately, we don’t use Him to our advantage, and often ignore His small still voice.
I cannot express how important the Holy Spirit is. We wouldn’t make a portion of the mistakes we make, if we listened to the warnings of the Holy Spirit. We could accomplish much more if we follow His instructions. We could be ten times stronger, if we seek His strength. We could be wiser, if we ask Him to show us the ways of God, and actually listen. I can vouch for this, as I’m sure allot of you can. I couldn’t tell you have many times I’ve known the right way to go, and clearly heard the Holy Spirit’s warnings, but chose my flesh over the Spirit. I also recall the times where I’ve been in the dark, and attempted to figure things out on my own. I thought deeply for days, or maybe even months, thinking I can overcome it alone, but all I had to do was ask Him for help. The answers were right in front of me the entire time. God gave us His Holy Spirit, which is a part of Him, so that life could be much more peaceful for the believer.
The Holy Spirit has so many different functions in our life, which is wonderful for us, because we truly have God leading us every step of the way. To constantly communicate with the Holy Spirit, is to communicate and fellowship with God; remember that’s a part of why we’re here. We’re lead by the Holy Spirit, filled with the Holy Spirit, taught by the Holy Spirit, and connected to God through the Holy Spirit. We pray by the Spirit, and He even speaks to God, through us, in our own unique language, which is called “speaking in tongues”. There are times when we’re overwhelmed with emotions, and we forget to pray for the things, or people, that need prayer, so we must consult with the Holy Spirit in prayer. This is as important as asking for things in Jesus’ Name, because the Trinity of God works together, to help us live in abundance.
When we’re filled with the Holy Spirit, we’re filled with a spirit of meekness, humility, thanksgiving, and righteousness, because all of these things come from Christ. It’s written: Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. (Romans 5:1-5 NIV) All failures in life occur when we lose hope in the promises of God. This life is a fight to the end, and the minute we stop fighting, we’re defeated and broken. We have the Holy Spirit so that this will never happen, but we must invite Him to be a part of our everyday life.
If you don’t know Jesus as Lord, then you don’t have the Holy Spirit. Life with an active relationship with the Holy Spirit is much more rewarding, because you begin to actively work toward righteous and keeping God’s commandments. I can remember being in a place where my soul hungered to be right, and do right by God, but I just kept making the same wrong mistakes. To be honest with you, I sometimes still find myself in that place, but I understand now that all I need to do is seek God’s face through the Holy Spirit, and He’ll show me the way. Before I learned that, I lived in anguish. If you are at that point in your life, ask your Holy Spirit to show you the way. When you come to a fork in the road, ask Him which way to go. When you’re confused, ask Him for clarity, and when your heart is heavy ask Him to help you lighten the load. The first step is salvation through Christ, and the Holy Spirit will come. Take a few moments to take the God Quiz right now. My favorite verse today is: When he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth. (John 16:13)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
Today's scripture are about our reconciliation by God, through Christ. Jesus said: "I and My Father are one.” (John 10:30), and He meant that literally. We know from the beginning there was God, and with God was the Word, and the Word was Jesus Christ (John 1:1). The Holy Spirit was also there, which made up the Trinity of God. Salvation and truth is given and maintained through this trinity, which is why Jesus commanded: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matt 25:18-20) Baptism symbolizes dying to our old sinful self, being buried, washed of all sins, and resurrected with Christ, becoming a new person.
No one really knows why God operates the way that He does, or why salvation is necessary. Things as complicated and deep as these will be revealed to us when we get to Heaven. Right now, we know the truth lies in His Word, salvation lies in His blood, and reconciliation is for each believer. God came to earth, in human form, as Jesus Christ, in order to bring us, His own creation, back to Him. We were once separated by sin, but He's taken care of that, once and for all. The moment we accept this Salvation, that's offered to all who believes, we're one with Him. There are some awesome things going on inside of us, which gives us the power to live above the world. We're kings and queens through Christ, and nothing on this earth have total control over us.
This reminds me of the story of Paul and the deadly viper. Paul was on the Island of Malta, on a cold and rainy night, so he built a fire to help him and his men keep warm. It's written: Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand. When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, "This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live." But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects. The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead, but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god. (Acts 28:3-6) Paul had just escaped death on the sea a day before this, and now he was bitten by a deadly viper, and still didn't die, all He did was shake that snake off, and kept moving as if nothing had happened. Paul knew how to work is faith. He knew that God had a journey for him to complete, and it wasn't yet time for him to die, so by faith, and faith alone, he survived all that was thrown at him. Paul understood his power through Christ, because he had grown to love and worship the Lord, and the Lord only. He had no fear of anything or anyone, because he knew that God had made him a promise, and revealed Himself to him, because he sought Him, and was obedient to His will.
Paul wasn't always a man of this much faith, actually, he persecuted Christians at one time, but God worked in him, and he was reconciled. God took a once sinful and wicked man, and made him a Saint. This was possible because of Paul's complete surrender to the Lord. God still does that today, in the lives of millions of Christians, including me, and most of you reading this message. He lives and breathes through us; similar to the way He did through Paul, Peter, John, Timothy, Andrew, and the many other disciples. He uses us to be Shepherds and "fishers of men" (Matt. 4:16). Paul faced storms and vipers of all types, but he knew the truth, and lived by that, and that alone.
Try to picture your heart in a Spiritual aspect. Not the literal organ, but the Spirit, or the core of your being, which is responsible for your very life. Think of Jesus Christ, and the power He posses; He was beaten and killed, but in the same week used His own power to be resurrected into full glory, and still lives today. Think of the Holy Spirit, and His ability to speak to and through us, planting seeds of growth and prosperity in our very Spirit. Now, think of God - the Creator of the entire Universe, ruler of all things, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. Think of the power He possesses - He made earth, wind, and fire; the sun, clouds, and rain. He who tells the water of the ocean where to stop, so it won't overtake the earth, and most importantly He made man in His own image. Our minds can't begin to fathom the enormity that is the Holy Trinity, and the power He holds.
All of this power, from God our Heavenly Father, is on inside of you and me. He waits to hear from us, and concerns Himself with all aspects our life. He cares when we're happy or sad, joyful, or afraid. He's there when we call upon Him just to talk, or when we're in extreme need. He gives us power when we call on Him, by the Name of Jesus Christ, to move any mountain that's in our path. Yes the same God - the Creator of the earth, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
If you haven't confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior, then you don't have access to this power, not until you say that prayer. You’re of the world, and covered in sin, which if isn’t taken care of, will eventually consume you to death. Salvation is free to anyone who asks, no matter what. Pray and ask Jesus to come into your life as Lord and Savior, if you haven't done it already. If you're not sure where you stand, then take a few moments to take the God Quiz today! My favorite verses today are: It pleased the Father, that in him should all fulness dwell; and, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself. Daily Devotional Day & Night
Today's scriptures are about the depth of our God, where there is no comparison. There are many different belief systems in this world, but none can quite compare with the one true God. Our God created the heaven and earth, and everything in it. He's so magnificent, that we can't quite grasp the enormity of Him. He said: I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. (Rev. 22:13) Can you imagine? The most important thing that we should know about Him is that He is our Heavenly Father, and He loves each of us so much that every hair on our head is numbered. When we love Him, we never have to worry about anything on this earth. There is no one or nothing mightier than Him. His Word is the one and only truth, which has and will stand the test of time.
There are several different religions in this world, some of which there is no record. According to the website “Religious Tolerance” there's at least: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Atheists, Sikhism, Judaism, Spiritism, Baha'i Faith, Confucianism, Jainism, Zoroastrianism, Shinto, Taoism, Chinese folk religion, and Wicca. To be honest with you, I've never heard of most of these religions. It's such a big subject, and because we were created with a "herd" mentality, we all need something to believe in. All of these religions evolved because one person didn't want to see things the way God presented it, so they branched off into their own beliefs. Most of the time, it was to conform around what works for them.
God's Word, also known as the Holy Bible, is the handbook to life. It gives us the truth, divinely written by God, through chosen human beings. There are people who have dissected this book, and only choose to believe the parts that work for them. That's a very dangerous road to follow, but I can understand how you might argue that some of it isn't true. The most common argument is that this book was written by man, and translated so many times that some truths may have been omitted and/or changed from what was originally written. I guess that can be a fair argument, but that's when you must think about who God is. If He created the entire universe, couldn't He have divinely written, and translated the Holy Bible? Not only did He write it, through some awesome people in history, but He also has linked it back to the original scrolls. There are true Biblical Historians that has done the research, and persevered His Word, for hundreds of years, by His power. God still writes through people, to give new translations to His Word, as the times change. He uses people like me, and others on a grander scale, whom He anointed with the gift to write. He's the one true GOD! He can move heaven and earth to prove Himself to those He loves, but we must have Faith in Him, because of what He has given us. Remember, “…faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Heb. 11:1)
God makes sure that we have everything we need to be redeemed, to make it to the Kingdom of Heaven, but it's up to us to reach out to Him. He's one God, but a trinity of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. He plays three different roles in our life, which offers us Salvation, protection, love, guidance, and so much more. We can have a personal relationship with Him, and He's equally attentive to each believer, because He's a part of us. Whenever we call He answers, whatever we need He provides, and all we have to do is love Him with all our heart. I don't know any other god, idol, or religion that promises that. Nothing can compare to the love of the God! I love Him because He's shown up in my life, and performed miracle after miracle. I hate to sound like a cliché, but He's truly made ways out of no way for me. He speaks to me, and He comforts me in times that no one else could. I know God is real, because He’s with me each day.
If this message has you interested in knowing more about God, there are many resources available, and the Internet was created to help expand our knowledge. You can read the bible in different languages and dialects online. You can also seek Godly counsel, and/or speak to a Pastor at your local church, to receive more information. Dr. Charles Stanley has study the word of God so extensively, that He has his doctorate in Theology. He was anointed to created another translation of the bible, called the "Life Principle Bible". I love His teachings, because He’s a man who’s knowledgeable, as well as wise. He has lots of resources on his website as well www.intouch.org. I urge you, if you haven't confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then please start by taking the God Quiz today. Hopefully, if you've been wavering, or aren’t clear on what to believe, this message has helped you in some way. Once you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, you'll be anointed with the Holy Spirit, who will show you the truth and the light. Just know that there's nothing that can be compared to the one true God! My favorite verses today are: Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:9-10)

daily Devotional Day & Night
Today's scriptures are about living in the midst of evil. Yesterday I started to write about the nature of the flesh, which is very pertinent to today's message. The “flesh”, which was created from the dust that comes from the earth, is the body’s natural form. Adam and Eve are responsible for mankind’s free will, and the knowledge of “good and evil”. Consequently, we're born into a sinful nature, and our flesh wants whatever it wants, when it wants it. In the flesh we are of a carnal mind, so we often give in to our every want and desire, without hindsight.
As we know, everything we do has a consequence, good or bad, so living by the flesh has proven to be very dangerous, to say the least. It's written: As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. (Eph 2:1-3) Wow! Paul describes us as "objects [or children] of wrath" when operating in the flesh. Wrath is a really strong word, but now that I think about it, before I surrendered my life to Christ, I can remember the wrath that was caused by me, or was brought to my life. It came because of the poor decisions I made in the flesh. I am proud to say that Jesus Christ is the best thing that has ever happened to me!
When we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, we're anointed with the Holy Spirit. Our spirit is being transformed, and we begin to take on the heart and mind of Christ. We begin to thirst for the Lord, and to quench that thirst we must learn who He is, and pray for the strength and wisdom to overcome the world, and the things of it. At the same time, we have to live on this earth, and mix and mingle with unbelievers, and the flesh heavily influences us. The enemy glamorizes everything, to make it seem more than it really is. As we grow in our spirit, we'll begin to realize just how empty the ways of the world are, because God will reveal the truth. It's written: Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. (Romans 8:5-8)
You may be asking, "How can I live above the world, but still be very much in it?" The answer lies in one word, "surrender". When we come to a realization that we cannot do anything without Christ, we'll begin to surrender to His will. Surrendering means to live on purpose, and with a purpose, as well as looking to Christ for guidance. Our main goal is fellowship with God, so we must do just that. We must spend quality time with Him, by studying His word, praying without ceasing, and meditating. Those things seem so simple, but because we're in constant battle with our flesh, it's harder than you may think. The enemy will throw so many things in our way to keep us separated from God. It's up to us to recognize what’s of the Spirit and what's of the flesh, and quickly avoid or lay down the things not of the Spirit. You must understand that it's not all about you, just as Jesus did right before the time of His crucifixion, when He told God "not My will, but Yours, be done". (Luke 22:42)
When we're continuously focused on God, we don't have time to focus on the world. Constantly thinking about how we can please Him, will give us an inner peace, which surpasses all human understanding. He'll give us the strength to move a mountain, but keeps us meek and compassionate. I speak from personal experience, almost like the Apostle Paul. I've been extremely low in my life, and I've watched the wonder that is Christ flourish in my heart, mind, body, and Spirit. I still struggle in my flesh daily, but the struggle isn’t my main concern. I've experienced rewards for right choices, and punishments for wrong, so I'll choose God over anything else. I surrender each day, praying and asking Him to show me His way, and give me the wisdom to complete His will, and that He does. I sometimes fall short, because I'm a human being, but I try my best, and I love God with all of my heart, that's all He asks for.
If you haven't accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, you're still in the flesh. You must confess to God the fact that you're a sinner, and ask Jesus to be Lord of your life. God will forgive you of your sins, and fill you with His Holy Spirit, and you will forever be changed, once you surrender. Jesus prayed, ” Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil", so ask God to help you over come the world, and surrender to His Spirit. If you're not sure of your Salvation, or want more information, check out Dr. Stanley’s God Quiz. My favorite verse today is: The Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil. Daily Devotional Day & Night
Today's scriptures are about relaying on, and basking in the presence of the Lord. There's a very famous poem entitled "Footprints" written by Mary Stevenson. Following the popularity of this poem, there were various paintings depicting what Mary wrote. To sum it up, Mary had a dream that she was walking on the beach, and across the sky flashed scenes from several moments in her life. In most scenes she noticed two sets of footprints, one for her and one for the Lord. She then stopped and looked back and noticed that in the scenes from the lowest moments in her life, there was only one set of footprints. She became angry and questioned God on why, at the times where she needed Him the most, there was only one set of footprints. Naturally, she assumed at those times He'd left her alone. She wrote: The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. "When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
When I read today's scriptures, I immediately thought about the "footprints in the sand", and how much we fail to realize or recognize the presence of the Lord in our life. He walks with us through the good, the bad, and the ugly. He provides protection, love, support, cheer, peace, and whatever else we may need, at any given moment in our life. I'll write it again, “God will provide everything we need, at any given moment in our life, because He's always walking with us”. This is why we have the ability to ask and it's given, seek and we find, and knock and the door opened.
When my Aunt first came up with the name “Faith Walk” for her ministry, a light bulb went off in my head. I think those two words are the greatest way to describe the life of a follower of Jesus Christ. Each day we have to walk with the faith and strength in knowing that He is right there. I know that there are times when things get really rough, and it feels like you can't go on, but those are the days when the Lord's strength carries you. Jesus said: Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. (Matt 11:28) When we do this with humility, we'll find that He's been waiting all along.
As of late, I’ve been thinking about my life, and I'd see those scenes where it's been God who delivered, rescued, and healed me in times of great despair. I've had those times when I was angry at life, and at my circumstances, and even at God, because I didn't understand why I had to suffer, or endure the hardships that was of no fault of my own. He was even there in those moments, and helped me see the wisdom in each circumstance, and when warranted, the error of my ways. Knowing that the Lord will be with me always, gives me peace, and allows me to look forward to life ahead, even the tough times, because I know that that's when He's going to be strong for me.
I remember times when I only noticed the single set of footsteps, and played the victim, thinking that it was me against the world. I suffered severely for having that type of attitude, and even then God carried me through it. I'm sure a lot of you have had, or has that type of attitude. You know the times where we question whether or not God loves us, or wonder if we're worthy enough for His blessings. The best day of my life was when I realized that the Almighty Lord, the Creator of all things, and the Sovereign God of the Universe, loves me, and is walking side by side with me everyday. It's written: To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?" says the Holy One. Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing. Why do you say, O Jacob, and complain, O Israel, "My way is hidden from the LORD; my cause is disregarded by my God"? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (Isa. 40:25-31 NIV)
These promises and more are given to those who love the Lord, and if you have trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then that is you. You loved Him enough to have that much Faith in Him, to trust Him with your life, now and forever. If you feel like you’re lost, you don't have to look too far for help, because the Lord is always with you. You have the Holy Spirit in your heart, and He offers guidance, love, and clarity of the ways of God. If you don't know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, or isn't quite sure of your Salvation, then take a few moments to take the God Quiz, it'll give you some wonderful insight. My favorite verse today is: Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. (Joshua 1:9)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
Today's scriptures are about the proceeding of the Holy Spirit, after Jesus’ resurrection. We're each taught that when we accept Jesus as Lord and Savior we receive the Holy Spirit. To commemorate our Salvation, we're to be baptized by water, in the Name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, to represent the cleansing of our sins. If you’re a new believer, what does all of this mean to you? The fact is that you're now a chosen Child of God, who has been given many gifts, including the gift of eternal life. What do you do in the meantime? You are washed with the blood of Jesus, and through Him you are made righteous, but God begins a transformation from your inside out. You're blessed with His Holy Spirit, who helps you make that transformation smoothly, and guides you along the way.
There is only one God, but He's broken up into the Trinity of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Which all existed from the beginning of time. I was talking to a friend last night, and John 1 was brought up, this amazes me because the scriptures that were quoted, are so relevant to today's devotional (that's an example of how the Holy Spirit works!). It's written: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (John 1:1-5) Jesus was the Word in the flesh, and He makes it possible for us to become children of God, after we were separated by the sin of Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden. Jesus is the light to an otherwise dark sinful world, and His Holy Spirit is the lamp to our path. Before Jesus was crucified He left us with this: “If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you." (John 14:15-18) Jesus said, "I will come to you", because He and the Holy Spirit were both one with God from the beginning of time. It's written: Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Gen 1:26-7)
The Holy Spirit is as important to our life as Jesus, because He dwells in us, and helps us in every aspect. He's in our heart speaking to, and through, us all the time, even in our sleep. He searches our heart and helps us prays to God. He even prays through us, in a special language [which we call "speaking in tongues], that only He and God understand. He's that small still voice that tells us which way to go, in order to stay on the path of righteousness. Yet, He's also that sometimes-loud booming voice, which openly warns us against evil. He's that gut feel we get when faced with a tough decision, and He's our conscious and convicts us when we've sinned. He's our translator when we read the Holy Bible, and He's the reason it comes to life and pierces our heart. He's the author of these devotionals, because ask Him to use me, and write through me each day. I could go on and on about Who He is, and what He does for us on a daily basis, but I think you get the picture.
Invite the Holy Spirit to be a part of your everyday life, because that's what's required to stay in tuned with Him. When you awake, ask Him to lead you on the path of righteousness for that day, pick up the Word of God, and ask for clarity and instructions as you read. When you sin and feel conviction thank Him, confess those sins to God and repent. When you see someone that looks like they need a Word from the Lord, ask Him to Speak through you, to give them what God intended them to have. Each person who has confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior has these abilities so take advantage of them. Each day I strive to be a better person, and to strengthen my relationship with God, so I pray without ceasing, and consult my Holy Spirit throughout the day. That's all it takes to consistently grow in the Lord, as He intends for you to do.
If you don't know Jesus as Lord and Savior, then your journey must start there. Pray and confess your sins to God, and ask Jesus to come into your heart as Lord and Savior, and once that heart felt prayer is complete, you'll be blessed with the gift of the Holy Spirit. From there, find a church home, and be baptized as commanded by the Lord. Follow the bible as laid out for you, with the help of the Holy Spirit’s presence, it worked for me. Learn how to speak in tongues, to help you further feel the Holy Spirit’s presence; it works for me. My favorite verse today is: Hereby know we that we dwell in him and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. (1 John 4:13)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
Today's scriptures are about God's relentless grace. I choose the word relentless to describe God’s grace because that's exactly what it is. As soon as we think that He's fed up with us, He comes right back, and showers us with love. I can only vouch for myself, but there are times when I make the same mistakes over and over again, and I think, "Okay, God is really angry with me now", then I go to Him in prayer, ask for forgiveness, and repent. I then ask Him to give me strength to overcome my weaknesses. All of a sudden I feel this warmth in my heart, as if I feel Him hug me, and whisper in my ear, saying everything’s going to be okay. Don't get me wrong, I am punished quickly for my sins, but once that punishment is done, and He forgives me that is the end of that.
God is similar to our earthly parents. In my opinion, the perfect father would be a man who prays for, molds, supports, and cherishes his family with all of his heart. His entire life is devoted to keeping them safe, providing for them, and nourishing the household. With any parent, it's your God given job to shape and mold your children into responsible, loving and caring human beings. You do that by offering your unconditional love, support, as well as discipline. A child will never learn the affects of bad choices if you excuse everything they do, continuously shower them with gifts, or overlook their bad behavior. At times, the punishment may need to be more severe than others, in order to teach them the ways of life. You never want your child to go out into the world ignorant to the repercussions of bad choices and decisions. You want to protect them, but not shelter them too much, where they never experience "real life" lessons. Punishments are as important as rewards.
God handles us with care, but is still firm when it's needed. He's tender and merciful because He is Love. Love is such a wonderful thing, just imagine how you feel when you look at a person and your heart gets warm, and the first thing that comes to your mind is "I love him or her". You can feel this way about anyone, your significant other, husband or wife, parent or grandparent, or even your children. That feeling comes from God. If we could love someone so much, just imagine how much He loves us. How many times have your child, niece or nephew, etc., done something that made you so mad that you just wanted to punish them? However when you see them, you can't help but love them. They may do something to make you laugh, hug you real tight, or give you the sad face and say, "I'm sorry", and you can't help but smile. God sees us in that way as well. Our trials and tribulations are normally allowed as refinement so that we can learn from our mistakes. Have you ever heard your parents say, "This will hurt me more than it hurts you"? I'm sure God feel that way when we sin against Him and He has to punish us. When we sin, we grieve His Holy Spirit, and so He waits patiently for us to come to Him and repent.
We have the ability to choose right from wrong, so we cannot get upset when we're merely reaping what we're sowing. As I mentioned before, it's okay to question God in periods of angst and turmoil; He welcomes that. Just know that you're not a victim of circumstance, but you're in a refinement period, and be watchful of the lessons that need to be learned in each situation. Paul reminds us of how to conduct ourselves as Christians, it's written: Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body. "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Eph. 4:25-32 NIV)
Through the blood of Jesus Christ we have the ability to be forgiven of ANY sin that we commit. God wants us to confess our sins with a humbled and contrite heart, and ask of forgiveness. Repentance is the only requirement for forgiveness. He knows our heart, so when we're truly remorseful for our sins, then He will forgive us, and never count that sin against us again. You will be judged for the right and wrong decisions you've made on judgment day, but your place in Heaven is secure. Jesus died to give you that privilege, so don't allow false guilt to dictate your life. If you committed a sin ten years ago, and have humbly asked God to forgive you, you have been forgiven! If you're still carrying around the guilt of that sin, then you need to forgive yourself, because God has already forgiven you, and wants you to move on. Guilt is another form of bondage that the enemy puts us in. If you confessed and repented for your sin last night before you went to bed, then today you and God started over with a clean slate. When He looks at you, He's so very proud.
If you don't know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then I urge you to pray and ask Him to be Lord of your life today. Once you've said that prayer you are now a part of the Kingdom of God, and sin will never hinder you again, if you don't allow it to. If Jesus already lives in your heart, yet you haven't confessed and repented for you sins, and you feel the burden of it in your heart, then you can go to God and repent, and ask for forgiveness right now. If you need help with those prayers, feel free to contact me, or check out Dr. Stanley's God Quiz right now. My favorite verse today is: Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God. (Ephesians 2:13)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
Today's scriptures are about God’s Word. The Word of God, also known as the Holy Bible, is our handbook for life. God created it so that His love and wisdom would never be far away. The bible holds all of the answers to life, great or small. It gives us a History lesson, which is very much relevant today. The Bible is also known as the “Living Word of God”, because it’s translated by the Holy Spirit, and each time we read it we get something different. God speaks to us through His Word, and gives us nourishment for our Spirit, which helps us grow and mature in our Faith walk.
This entire book is God’s truth, and was written and translated in my different languages and versions, by God, through many different men and women. I hear people say all the time that they don’t believe everything in the bible because it was written by man, but I’m here to tell you that that’s a dangerous belief system. Think about how God uses people, isn’t He capable of having His truth written in one book, for the greater good of all of us children?
Jesus was the greatest teacher of the Word of God. However, even He studied God’s Word. Throughout the Gospels of Christ (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), He quotes scriptures from the Old Testament, which was written on scrolls, distributed and taught in churches throughout the land. Jesus sought the Word from a very young age. There’s an account in the book of Luke, where when He was a child, He had wondered off, and His parents were looking for Him frantically, because he had been missing for a few days. It’s written: Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.”And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them. (Luke 2:46-50) Just as Jesus, we too must be about our “Father’s business”, but studying His Word is the only way to find out what that is. We must primarily concern ourselves with taking care of “God’s business”.
Jesus was the Word of God walking on this earth. He taught a new doctrine, or a new way of life. He spoke of Salvation and forgiveness of sins. He spoke of love, life, and the Holy Spirit. He taught from two perspectives, because He was both God and human. He shared things with us in a way that we could relate, because He had experienced what it meant to be human. He also experienced the awesome Love of God, and He wanted to share that with us as well. The New Testament of the bible is all about the love, grace, and mercy of God, because He introduced a new way of life, through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus’ way of teaching is a blend of the fear [or reverence] of God taught in the Old Testament, with the “Love God with all of your Heart” of the New. The most precious gift that God gave through Jesus was the Holy Spirit, Jesus said: “…the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." (John 14:26)
In order to prosper in life you must become acquainted with the Word of God. Once you’ve accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, you’re anointed with the Holy Spirit. His job is to connect you with God. Before you sit down to study the Word, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand, and to gain the Wisdom God intended to teach you through that study session. Each time you open the Bible God is trying to tell you something, you not only have to read it, but you have to listen with your heart. I can guarantee you that all you will discover is the truth and love of God. If when you pick up the bible it seems like a foreign language to you, I suggest finding a bible study group at your local church, or form one with family and friends.
If you don’t know Jesus as Lord and Savior, then you don’t truly know God. Jesus is the only way to open the gates of Heaven, so that you can experience God’s love, peace, and joy right here on earth. You’re either for Him or against Him. It’s written: Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.” (John 8:42-44) With that being said, examine your heart. Who is your father? If you love Jesus, and have accepted Him as Lord and Savior, then you’ve proclaimed God as your Father. Jesus is “the Word that became flesh”; He’s that promise of Salvation, and eternal life, so without Him it’s impossible to obtain. Pray and ask Him to be Lord of your life today! My favorite verse today is: The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword. (Hebrews 4:12)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
I pray all is well with everyone, and you enjoyed this gorgeous Terrific Tuesday! It was an absolutely exquisite day, as far as the weather is concerned. I usually don't get to be outside during the day but for an hour or so, as most working adults, but the one hour that I had was wonderful. We have to see God's beauty in everyday, but days like these give us more evidence of His love. Be sure to thank Him for another day, because it is a present. Many times we're so busy rushing to the next event, or even the next weekend, we fail to cherish each day (I'm talking to myself). Pray with me, Father God, thank you for life, love, loved ones, and all of your many wonderful blessings. Please forgive me for rushing through days, taking for granted each precious moment I have to spend with you. I pray for my brothers and sisters reading this right now, that you bless them with the wisdom to see you in everything, and a humble heart. Thanks for the good and bad, ups and downs, sunny and rainy days, because we know that you're in the mist of it all, and it will work together for our good. In Jesus' Name, AMEN! Well the Holy Spirit felt I needed to share that prayer with you, so pray it with a sincere heart. We should always serve Him with Praise on our lips, and thanksgiving and love in our heart. Enjoy the remainder of your day family, and be blessed!
Today's scripture are about the importance of continued prayer. Prayer is our primary means of communication with God. We must pray often making our and our neighbors’, supplications known. God is always waiting to hear from us, and He delights in blessing us with those things that we’ve asked for. He wants us to be happy and at peace, so prayer is how we’ll stay that way. When in prayer, we should pray with the Holy Spirit, and He searches our heart to make sure that we’re confessing any sins that we may have committed, as well as asking for the things we need to stay on God’s path. Continued prayer helps keep us convicted of sin immediately, as well as keep us aware of God’s presence, which will help us avoid sin altogether. Just as prayer is our main connection to God, sin is our main disconnection, so it’s important for us to repent for sins shortly after they occur.
I’ve found that when I start my day in prayer, the Holy Spirit is almost awakened inside of me, and He speaks to me more throughout the day. He keeps me aware of my surroundings, and helps me see clearly when my prayers are being answered, or the enemy is attempting to steer me off course. When I end my day in prayer, I’m able to properly thank God for the blessing of the day, and make supplication for the people I’ve encountered, or things that’s needed for the following day.
We must also take extended times to pray and meditate on God’s word. Although we have the Holy Spirit as our guide, we must also study God’s Word to gain the knowledge and wisdom to know what we should be praying for. Ignorance is a powerful thing, and we can miss out on many blessings because we don’t know God’s Word. So we must designate elongated periods of time for prayer. Some people have a prayer closet, or prayer room, that they use to escape from the world, and the noisiness of life, to spend quiet one on one time with God. Jesus used to leave all of His friends and followers behind, to have His special prayer time. He would spend this time in the presence of God, learning about, thanking, and praising God, making His supplication known. I can testify, that there’s nothing more gratifying then spending time with God detoxifying from all of the evils of the world. Fasting, meditation, studying His word, and praise all help in this process.
We must also pray for each other. Today one of my best friends suggested that we start a prayer line, so that we can all get together and pray with, and for, one another. This isn’t a new concept, but has been practiced for years. Even Paul asked his friends to pray for him, he wrote: Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. (Heb. 13:18) There’s power in numbers as well, so it’s important for us to pray together as a group. Jesus said: “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18: 19-20) There’s great testimony and praise happening when people get together in the Name of the Lord, because He’s there in the midst of them.
The bible is filled with accounts of people in prayer, it could be found from cover to cover. Prayer is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly, nor taken for granted. I can assure you that you have no real relationship with God if you don’t pray without ceasing, because you’re not communicating with Him. Prayer is as important as oxygen, without it you will suffocate and spiritually die. Jesus summed it up perfectly with one of my favorite passages in the bible: “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Luke 11:9-10) I guarantee that the answer to receiving in abundance, peace, joy, happiness, and prosperity lies in these two verses.
Please don’t make the mistake of only praying when something is going wrong in your life, because you’re missing out on so much more. A lot of times when friends come to me with different problems, my first question to them is “Did you pray about it?”, and surprisingly the most common reaction is “I don’t know how to pray”. Jesus taught us how to pray in the most popular prayer in Christianity, “The Lord’s Prayer”. You probably could quote it verbatim, but have no idea what Jesus is teaching you. Take some time to read it, and stop after each verse and try to relate that sentence to your life today, and it’ll start making perfect sense to you. As always, if you need a prayer partner, please let me know.
Jesus is the key to having your prayers heard, without Him there is no connection to God. Praying in His Name is the stamp that gets our mail delivered. If you haven’t confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior, then it’s said that that’s the first and only prayer that God will answer of yours. That one simple prayer is no joke, so please take some time and pray right now. For more information, you can check out Dr. Stanley’s God Quiz today. My favorite verse today is: Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving. (Colossians 4:2)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
I pray all is well with everyone, and you're enjoying the beginning of another workweek (for most). I had a wonderful weekend, I embarked on a new journey in my ministry, and I learned a lot. I describe this step as "jumping into a cold pool". Have you ever been swimming, and you eased in the water, bit by bit? You start off with a toe, then eventually with the whole foot, etc., that way is safe, but it's more painful than just jumping in. I had been dipping my foot in the water, and then taking it out for a long time, so this time I was lead to go for it, and I jumped in. I had that immediate shock at the beginning, but as I got into it, and moved around in the water, it got better, and I felt more comfortable. Is there a cold pool in your life, something that you've been called to do, but you been sitting on the edge, too afraid to get in? Well I urge you to just jump in! You do have to be careful not to jump in with your eyes close, because you might hurt yourself, but pray for God's guidance, and once He gives you the green light, go for it. Take my word for it it's worth it! Enjoy the remainder of your day, and be blessed family!
Today's scriptures are about respecting the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a “person” of the Trinity of God. When we think of God the Father, we think of the Creator of all things, the Almighty, All-powerful, Sovereign God. We know that He loves us, and we pray to, and fellowship with, Him on a daily basis. Then we think about God the Son, and we know the “Christmas story”, that God’s Spirit impregnated the Virgin Mary, and she gave birth to Jesus. He grew up like any other normal child, then as an Adult He traveled into far countries, taught the word of God, performed miraculous wonders, and died for the sin of all mankind. After His death, He was resurrected, and now sits in Heaven, at the right hand of God, making intercession for us. That’s two parts of the Trinity, but what’s the other? The third and final part is the Holy Spirit. He is just as important and relevant as the Father and the Son, yet we don’t respect as we do the others. Yes, there’s still One God, and One Savior Jesus Christ, but there’s also One Holy Spirit, and they all work together.
Yesterday we celebrated Pentecost, which observes the day God’s Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus’ Disciples, after His ascension into Heaven. In the Book of Acts, which is also know as “the Acts of the Holy Spirit”, Luke starts off with a conversation between Jesus and His disciples, after His resurrection, but before His ascension. Jesus said to them: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit." (Acts 1:4-5 NIV) Luke goes on to give an account of when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples in the next chapter. It’s written: When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. (Acts 2:1-4) During all of this commotion, people started to surround the house to see what was going on. When they saw them acting so strangely, they thought they were drunk, but Peter stood before the crowd and explained what was happening (Acts 2:14-41). He went through different accounts of this very moment being prophesied throughout history, and how important that day was. It’s written: Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call." (Acts 2:38:39)
Now are you convinced that the Holy Spirit is as important as Jesus Himself? He’s been gifted to us; God loved us enough to give us a part of Him, to live inside of us, and help us face everyday life. The Holy Spirit seals our covenant with God. Jesus made it possible for us to live all eternity in Heaven, and the Holy Spirit makes it possible to live in abundance here on earth. He makes sure we’re following God’s will for our life, yet He also commands respect. He’s a part of God, so we’re required to love Him with all of our heart as well. He’s responsible for telling us, “this is the way walk in it”, and He’s expecting us to listen. He helps us know what to pray for, and how to pray (Romans 8:26). He convicts us of our sins, so that we could quickly repent, and our peace be restored. Through Him we can heal the sick, prophecy, and so much more. I heard one of Dr. Stanley’s teachings on the Holy Spirit, and He pointed out that we sometimes refer to the Holy Spirit as an “it” and not a “Him”, and I was immediately convicted, because I did that. Nonetheless, the Holy Spirit is very much a “person” of the Trinity of God.
We grieve the Holy Spirit when we don’t acknowledge His presence, consult Him on everyday things, nor thank Him for His assistance. If you know you haven’t been in touch with the Holy Spirit as much as you should, ask Him to walk with you today. He’s waiting on you to call on His Name, and He’ll be there. He right in your heart if you’ve confessed Jesus as Lord and Savior, He’s been there all along. If you haven’t confessed Jesus as Lord, then as soon as you take that very important step, you’ll received His Holy Spirit. It may not be as dramatic as the day of Pentecost, but you’ll notice a huge difference. I can testify, because the Holy Spirit brings you this message through me, each and every day, without Him it would not be possible. If you’re not sure of your salvation take the God quiz today! My favorite verses today are: After that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of the inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession. (Ephesians 1:13-14)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
Today's scriptures are about loving one another. Love is one of my favorite subjects; I just love love! God is the epitome of Love. Everything He is and does is based upon His love for us. We're made in His likeness so we have the ability to love just as He loves. He's working in us to create righteousness and perfection, in which love is a catalyst. Jesus said: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another." (John 13:34), but there are many Christians who don't know how to do just that. Now how do you think that makes God feel? The fact is if you can't learn to love other people, how could you really know how to love God? Paul teaches in 1 Corinthians 13, about the greatest gifts we've received from God, but also how everyone who professes to be a Child of God doesn't know how to truly Love, and the dangers of that. He ends this chapter with this: And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Cor. 13:13) Some of the reasons people have trouble with love is because of past circumstances, and being unforgiving. There are some people who want to openly love others, but they're afraid, because they’ve been hurt. This reminds me of the movie "Precious", where this young lady faced every horrible scenario of abuse that you could come up with, and this abuse came from her parents, the people who were supposed to love her unconditionally. There's a scene in the movie where her teacher told her that she loved her, and she said something like, "I don't want you to love me, because love beat me and raped me, love is a horrible thing". This was the part of the movie where I broke down in tears, because I know and have experienced real love, and I couldn’t imagine ever feeling that way. There are numerous people that don't think that they deserve real love, because they they’ve never really received it from anyone. What they don’t know is that unconditional love comes from God, and when you trust Him with your whole heart, He’ll show you. I think that's why God commanded us to love our neighbor, because some people can only gauge love by the amount of love they receive from others. When we love the people we come in contact with, we’re showing them the love of God. After all, love conquers all, and there's nothing that could tear it down. The people who said they loved you but really didn’t, were being used by the enemy, to attempt to scar you, and build fear in your heart. The only other thing that blocks our ability to love unconditionally is an unforgiving heart. I learned a long time ago, that forgiveness is for you. When you hold on to past hurts and pains, they begin to fester in your heart, and will ultimately make you bitter. If you're not willing to forgive people for their trespasses against you, how do you expect to be forgiven by God? You have to let that go, because when bitterness and resentment get's into your soul, it could block your ability to love with an open heart, then you’re disobeying God's commandment. I know you're wondering, especially if you've been hurt over and over in your life, how to let go and love again. I've been in that place before, and a part of me still is, but the one thing I hold on to is hope. From the moment I wake up in the morning I can feel God's presence and His love. Its almost like He fills me with love, and I can't help but praise Him. Because of that, I could look into the eyes of a known enemy, or someone who intends to do wrong by me, and still see the love in their heart. How did I get to this point? I just let go and let God. I prayed and asked Him to help me learn how to forgive quickly and love freely, and He answered. Whenever I'm struggling with anger, hurt or resentment, I pray to God and ask Him to see me through. Paul wrote: ...rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. (Romans 5:2-5) There you have it right there! Open your heart to God, allow Him to pour His love into you, and then He'll begin that work within you. Remember, He didn't give us these commandments to set us up for failure, but He's equipped us with every tool we'll need to obey them. All we have to do is reach out, and open up. I promise, if you forgive and ask for forgiveness, and let go of the past, you'll be filled with so much love that it'll overwhelm you. Love is a gift, but so are some trials, because they help mold you into the person God wants you to be. I'll leave you with this last question: Which takes more energy, to love, or to hate? Jesus loves you unconditionally, so take on His energy and love freely, and leave the consequences up to God. He's given you the Holy Spirit to help you decided who, what, when, where, and how to love. First trust Jesus to love you, and open your heart to Him. Allow Him to be Lord of your life today. If you need a prayer partner, I'll be happy to pray with you. My favorite verse today is: Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. (1 John 4:7)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
I'm grateful for the Lent season, and happy I decided to follow this religious tradition. Being "in the wilderness" has allowed me to understand much. As well as challenged me to focus on the ways and teachings of Christ, and really strive to be like Him. Jesus was an extraordinary man (still is), who had all of the answers to living a peaceful life. In some cases He taught in parables, but this was meant to challenge us, and help us relate is teachings to "real life" experiences. Have you started reading the Gospels yet? I've started reading the book of Luke, and once I get started I can't put it down. The stories come alive, and I'm discovering so much more than I did before. The miracles and wonderful wisdom He shared, are awesome, so trust your Holy Spirit to guide you through this process. Get started tonight, if you haven't already, I promise you’ll will learn more each time you pick it up. Enjoy the rest of your day, and be blessed family!
Today's scriptures are about trust over logic. I talk about this subject with friends frequently, because it's important that we know that God doesn't always work according to the world’s logic. We’re led in ways we never thought possible, and we find ourselves questioning God, instead of trusting Him. He's equipped us with salvation through Jesus Christ, the Holy Bible, and step-by-step guidance by the Holy Spirit, so why the lack of trust? The real key to a life full of peace, joy, and happiness lies in three simple things, trust, love, and obeying God. The world works on the logical, and most people believe that everything is black and white, but what constitutes black and white? Logic is defined: reason or sound judgment, as in utterances or actions. It's acknowledged that we're in spiritual warfare, which consists of good versus evil. When we awake to see a new day, our main goal should be to follow the will of God, and create some good in the world. We can do that on many different scales, from something as small as smiling at someone who looks like they're having a bad day, or by stopping to help someone who appears stranded. It could go deeper with our professions, volunteer work, church affiliations, etc. Now logic says if we do good things we get good things in return. Even the bible says, "we reap what we sow", but what, how, and when, we should expect that good that we reaped, to be sown, remains a mystery to us. Isn't it logical that if we work our job eight hours a day, five days a week, the following week we should receive a pay check for forty hours of work? God doesn't totally work that way, He wants us to put our trust in Him, and work to store up our treasures in Heaven. He’s in control, so we must trust Him for everything, everyday, because our main commandment is to love Him. Trusting God to take care of our every need, without any tangible evidence of His existence, is a huge way to show Him love. Knowing in our heart of hearts that there is a God, and trusting Jesus Christ as our Savior, is what will get us into Heaven. No amount of good deeds, money, or power could do it. Let's look at the story of the Jesus and the rich young ruler: Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” So Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. You know the commandments: ‘Do not commit adultery,’ ‘Do not murder,’ ‘Do not steal,’ ‘Do not bear false witness,’ ‘Honor your father and your mother.’” And he said, “All these things I have kept from my youth.” So when Jesus heard these things, He said to him, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when he heard this, he became very sorrowful, for he was very rich. (Luke 18:18-23) Now does this story sound logical to you? Do you think Jesus is literally saying you can't be rich and go to Heaven? Jesus was able to read this young man's heart, and so He knew that he would trust his money, more than he trusted God. Jesus simply challenged this man to make a decision, whether logical or not. Ultimately choosing God is all that matters. We do have moral rules to follow, so that's why Jesus named the Ten Commandments, but overall faith in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit is most important. It's written: “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”— because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.” (Mark 3:28-30). We're expected to make mistakes in life, so I urge you not to sweat the small stuff. Be diligent in learning the ways of Christ, growing in the wisdom of God, and making a conscious effort to change you sinner ways, but trust in God first, and He'll make sure you do the ladder. Trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and He'll spend the rest of your life proving His love to you, and He only asks that you do the same. My favorite verses today are: Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. (Psalm 62:8)

Daily Devotional Day & Night
I pray all is well with everyone, and you're enjoying another beautifully sunny Friday eve. I thank you for your prayers and support, I know sometimes I ramble but I love to write, and it's therapeutic to share my thoughts with you. I appreciate the time you take to read them, and your continued prayers. If you have any concerns or questions, or just need a prayer, please let me know, because we are in fellowship together. Today's Black History month quote is: "I have learned over the years that when one's mind is made up, this diminishes fear." (~Rosa Parks) Enjoy the rest of the evening, and be blessed family!
Today's scriptures are about the attacks of "The Enemy". It's said that the enemy was an Angel in Heaven, and the director of music. He’s now known as a Fallen Angel, because he wanted to be more powerful than God. (Isa. 14:12) Lucifer was his name when he was still an Angel, but after he was cast out, he was referred to as Satan, the Devil, the Enemy, etc. He’s the reason for the Spiritual warfare we fight everyday. He first introduced sin to the world, as the serpent that tempted Eve in the Garden (Gen. 3:1), and he still reigns on earth today. He has a legion of demons working for him non-stop, tempting us to stray from the will of God. He's powerful, crafty, and smart. He knows God very well, because He used to be one of His top ranking Angels. He knows every word in the Bible and will use it to his advantage. For example, Jesus said: “But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly." (Luke 21:34) He’s warning us to always be prepared for His return, and to avoid being drunk, wild, or fearful, but focused on Him. However, the devil would say something to us like, "It's okay to drink as much as you want, because even Jesus turned water in to wine at a wedding" (John 2:1-12), or he'll constantly try to get us to worry, and feed us that line "Life is short party and have fun". He twists the Word of God to manipulate us into thinking, doing, and saying what he wants. This is why it's so important to study the Word and meditate on it daily, and stay in constant connection with the Holy Spirit through prayer. A great rule of thumb for a Christian is, "If it doesn't feel right, then it probably isn't". The enemy loves to play mind games with us, and so Jesus warns us: “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves". (Matt. 10:16) When Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness, Jesus used the Word of God to defeat him, and like Jesus we can only defeat him with God’s help. The Devil will never completely win the battle, but God does allow us to be tempted for certain reasons, and we learn that in the book of Job. We're constantly being tested because God needs us to be on a certain “faith level”, before we're promoted to a greater "life level". How could we expect Him to bless us with a lot if we cannot handle the little we have? The Bible teaches us that enemy attacks will happen, especially when he thinks we're in the midst of a breakthrough with God. He'll send different demons to trip us up, by any means necessary. He’ll persuade us using a loved one, music, television, food, alcohol, or anything we could think of. The enemy has used all of us at some time in our life. He's constantly working on our weaknesses, until we become strong enough to endure. He wants our life to be a living hell because he knows that God wants us to experience peace, joy, and happiness every day. It’s necessary for us to study our enemy, because at times of war, each side gains as much intelligence on their enemy as possible. Before attacking, they need to know their weak spots, and how to defend against their counterattacks. The Word of God, prayer, and love are the only ways to fight evil. Through Jesus we have the strength to withstand anything the devil will throw at us, but we must put on the Amour of God (Eph 6:11), and most importantly REPENT [or turn away] from sin. Always remember this: You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4) The first step to defeating Satan is joining the army of the Lord through Salvation. Jesus is the only way to God, so ask Him to come into your heart as your Savior, and allow Him to strengthen you. My favorite verses today are: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour; whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. (1 Peter 5:8-9)
